Sent us a used range hood
We ordered the above-referenced range hood from this company. When we received it, we realized it had already been installed (and removed) and then repackaged. The hood had several rivets missing, the electrical panel missing (there was a hole where the LCD panel should have been!), several screws missing, caulk on the electrical cord, and a dented exhaust vent. There was absolutely no question that the hood had been dismantled, installed, uninstalled, and repackaged (poorly and without all the necessary parts).

We wrote the company an email the same evening we unpackaged the hood and realized it was not new.

We were unable to call the company the next day, and no one responded to our email or called us. The next day, we called RangeHoodsInc. and were transferred to several voicemail boxes before calling again and insisting that a live person return our call. Forty-five minutes later, someone did finally call. However, the representative didn't believe that the product came with the defects described above. After arguing and having to send two sets of photos (yes, we had to take photos of the product and email it to the company), they reluctantly agreed to accept a return and send us a new one. Then they called us back and told us they were out of stock.

They agreed to take the hood back for a refund, but the entire ordeal was a nightmare and the representatives at the company were not apologetic or helpful. We had to spend 2 hours of our time writing and calling in order to prove that the range hood was defective/used when it arrived. The people we spoke to were not polite (combative would be a more appropriate description) and RangeHoodsInc. offered us no compensation for our trouble, which included all the time we spent dealing with their customer service department as well as all the trouble with the contractors we had scheduled to install the hood and finish our kitchen. We had two different contractors scheduled to come -- one to install the hood and one to tile the backsplash. The installer came, looked at the hood, and confirmed that it was defective/used. We had to reschedule him to return and will have to pay him again for the trip. Our tiler is coming and cannot change the date she is scheduled to tile the backsplash. Since we won't have another hood by that time, she will have to tile the backsplash without the hood in place, which could result in a number of problems. We might have to pay her to return once we actually get the hood to finish the work or fix any gaps.

The whole experience was a nightmare and I would strongly advise potential customers not to purchase products from this company.
