While the public medias are asking us to be more cautious on the road, and always indicate your turning of your vehicle with signal lights, I was wondering was that only meant for the car owner to know that we are turning or to alert the other drivers that we are moving towards the direction.
I was driving along Jalan Puduraya this evening around 6.30pm on 20/02/2010. I had turned my signal light on to indicate that I wanted to cut into the other lane. But there was this Rapid KL bus, seems to be ignoring my signal. My car had cut out to the other lane but this bus was driving so fast and trying to close the gap with the front car, resulting of scratches at the right side-back of my car. As Malaysian driver, is there this priority for public buses to ignore the signal lights of the smaller cars, since they might think that they are the 'king' of the road?
We stopped at the side of the road to see the damaged that had done to this 2 vehicles. Ridiculously, this bus driver stated that my car had indeed scratch his lower side front (which is near to the tyre). The paint was totally out and there was no any sign of scratch. I found it so unlogical as there was no way my car can make such a patch of paint came out. Maybe he was trying to claim from his company to get his bus re-paint.
As we are trying to talk, this bus attendant, an Indian, started scolding. He had a very bad temper. The words that came out from his mouth was totally unmoral. He didn't think of ways to settle up the problem, but instead, he created fire in me.
That was the way how we were taught. Never to admit our fault but lay the problem on others. I feel so disappointed with how we Malaysians behave on certain problem. I was even more disappointed with the bus driver, as he just drove the bus away after snapping my car's car plate and the scratch part. How about me? No apologies were made by both of them. What can I do with the bus plate no? For your information, I had just repainted my car. And now with this scratch and the harsh remark from the bus attendant. This is what I got after gotten my car scratched.
