Ray Haskell Ford - 2006 Eclipse GT Reviews

RayHaskellFordSucks December 22, 2009
Totally unprofessional, and scamming company
Story Begins (Sorry for typos, will fix them when it's not 2:00am, just decided to throw this up today based on a short and useless conversation with Scott Stevens about my second key, and non-working alarm. Just another few items I was screwed over on).
During Signing
When I was speaking to Alton Savage, my loan official he enticed me to buy (what I will say sounded great at the time) an extended warranty with my vehicle. I made it VERY EXPLICITLY CLEAR that I wanted to put an aftermarket name-brand intake to replace the factory one and that was about the only actual engine modification I wanted to make, and I asked if that was something which would void my warranty, or make it so Ray Haskell Ford would not work on. He told me as a personal promise to me I would have NO PROBLEMS and NO ISSUES with Ray Haskell Ford keeping their deal with my warranty, and their service department would facilitate any request I had pertaining to the extended warranty.
Day 1 (6/30/2009)
When I first purchased my 2006 Eclipse GT I drove it off the low and took it to be washed at the KMD car wash (automatic, where I take all my cars to be washed) when as I was drying the vehicle it started having white smoke come up through the hood of the car, with my coolant bubbling and my temperature gauge rating at a high (in the red zone).
They didn't even come to pick up the car, they told me to drive it while it was overheating over to their Service Department. I took it over and they had to replace the fans, and temperature gauge in my car along with the connector piece which they said since they didn't have the "actual piece" I needed they would have to do something quick-fix until the part that they needed came in (which, it has been several months and that "piece" has still yet to come in and be fixed on my vehicle).
I also was given one key; with an alarm that was not working (the remote on my key lit up, but had no actual function). Scott Stevens said that it would not be an issue to get it fixed when I had the time and just to bring the work order in and Ray Haskell Ford would reimburse the costs.
Roughly a Week Later
I spoke with Mike or Scott at the Ray Haskell Ford service department I thought I was having some weird transmission issues on my car and I was wondering if they could at least listen to it, or take it for a test drive. They told me I would have to put the Stock Intake back onto the car for them to even considering taking a look at it. I still had my extended warranty, and the car still had the 30 day warranty on it and they would still not follow through with looking at my car. They would not touch it without the stock intake back on, which would be impossible for me to do seeing as the intake was cut up and taken apart.
Now mind you... An intake is a long tube with an airflow sensor, and filter. A transmission is an automobile gearbox that can change gear ratios automatically as the vehicle moves. TOTALLY SEPERATE ITEMS.
Also: I was called by KSW Federal Credit Union and was told that Ray Haskell Ford put the wrong information on my loan application. Wrong information like my co-signers: Birth Year, Day, and Month, his address, and his drives licenses number. I therefore went back to Ray Haskell Ford and spoke with Alton Savage and he told me not to listen to KSW that everything is fine.
Update 8/11/2009: This was not true, KSW (Denise, the loan officer), told me a new contract would need to be made and notarized. Also, that she has been waiting for Ray Haskell Ford to get back with her in regards to this loan for quite some time.
8/13/2009: I was called by April (The sales manager at Ray Haskell Ford) at my work number (not even my cell number or house number) and was told that I owe them $800 dollars to complete my $1, 600 dollar down payment... I don't know why this is when all I told them to put down was my $800 dollars, and they put down on my application that I gave them $1, 600 dollars. Weird, I had no intentions on paying double what I said I would.
----------------
OVERVIEW
----------------
• Was told aftermarket parts would not hinder, or affect my extended warranty I purchased through Ray Haskell Ford. But, they will not look at my car unless there are no aftermarket parts installed on it. Period.
• Alton, my finance manager, put the wrong information on my loan paperwork.
• Ray Haskell Ford put down I had a $1, 600 dollar down payment and tried to get more money from me when all I had put down and all I intended to put down was $800 dollars.
• Dealership did not honor my request to have my loan payment date to be set on the 15th of every month as my salesmen Scott Stevens said it would be.
• My salesmen Scott Stevens told me I could get my key fixed that did not work when I purchased the car over at Charlies Motormall and Ray Haskell Ford would cover the costs as long as I brought them a receipt.

8/20/2009: Went in at 7:30am to speak to their service department and show them some front bumper damage that was not even disclosed to me at time of purchase and tell them I had the car looked at by Midas for the engine issue that they would not even see me for.
Front Bumper Damage Issue (Alost like it was in a fender bender) I was told "did not even have to be disclosed, or shown to me unless it was over $2, 500 in damage" - Scott Stevens
Engine Issue (Midas told me it was sparknock issue or vacuum leak in line) I was told they still would not look at it and to bring it to Charlies in Augusta, they will help me there for a price. - Service Department
Scott Stevens told me Midas doesn't even know anything about cars, and why would I even bother to go there. Maybe because their (Ray Haskell Ford) Service Department will barley even speaks to me?
Also when speaking to Scott Stevens (My salesmen), I was told I still owe a down payment of $800 dollars and that I signed a promissory note to pay them? I asked him to get the note and he came back about 25 minutes later with something typed up that has my signature on it for $800 dollars and $700 dollars (Not a total of $1, 600 I will mention), but also the promissory note (which I never even received a copy of in my paper work) has the "Owed amount" written with my initial down payment of $800 dollars, and then a written amount of $700 dollars under it like it was added in. There was not even a total amount owed listed on their "Promissory Note". Almost seemed like they added the amount in at a later time...
Scott Stevens told me as well that day:
• "If I didn't pay the amount owed they will have a sheriff come to my work or house and take me to court for the rest of the amount owed."
• "That I am lucky to be talking to him and not the General Manager because the General Manager would not care what I have to say"
And when I asked when Ray Haskell (The owner of the place) came in, he told me nobody knows and that I can only talk to the General Manager Leon? Scott Stevens: "That is what/why they are paid to deal with special issues like mine" - They haven't been DEALING with ANY of my "ISSUES"!
Scott Stevens also was telling me that I need to get with KSW to re-do my contract - but Alton said it was all set and KSW doesn't know what they are talking about? - When I told Scott that he said "OH, Alton is just being lazy, Leon needs to come in so Alton get back on the ball and file the correct loan paperwork with KSW" - HUH?
----------------
OVERVIEW
----------------
• They "have a promissory note" for $800 and $700 but they tried to get $800 more, and say I owe them $700 now. Personal Note: I feel that the note was forged for the $700 extra amount on it.
• Still have the incorrect paperwork for my loan, and still being thrown in the middle of their own little blame game with the credit union and the dealership.
• Still not looking at my vehicle for the issues, and saying Midas is full of it.
• Still gave me the run around and not getting this pushed to Ray Haskell (the owner), and also threatening to take me to court for money I don't even owe?
• Now telling me my issues are not important to the General Manager, and are quite laughable.
9/02/2009: Took the car to Charlies Motor Mall in Augusta since Ray Haskell Ford would not even take it for a test drive, or look at it in any way. I paid Charlies to run a FULL diagnostic on the car to make sure it was in working order, and to fix the sparknocking issue.
They in response told me:
• The intake was fine, but was not in ANY WAY related to the sparknock issue.
• My car NEEDS to ONLY run premium gas, and not regular because it is a high-compression motor. - Which, the dealership should have told me because running regular gas could in the long run have caused damage to the motor.
• The warranty I was sold is pretty much useless unless I want to have my car 100% stock, which is funny since I told Alton I am in a car club, and would be adding aftermarket rims, stereo, tires, springs, etc...
9/02/2009: Canceled my Zurich warranty which is useless to me, and my car. Ray Haskell Ford told me it would be deducted from my loan and payments will go down to $234 per month.
9/15/2009: Warranty on my car is STILL IN AFFECT and has NOT been cancelled and my payments will actually not be lowered as Ray Haskell Ford told me. The warranty will be taken off my principal balance.
12/20/2009:
• No news on my promissory note and the money I "owed them".
• Had to mail new contractual information and a new loan application to my co-signer since almost all the information on the loan was wrong pertaining to my co-signer.
• Scott Stevens will not help get my key or alarm fixed on my car, or even get me a second key.
• Ray Haskell Ford will not look, fix, or service my vehicle. For that reason I have to go through Charlies Motor Mall in Augusta for all my service needs (should have just bought the damn car there).
• Since the date or purchase have found out that all my fluids were not properly changed like Scott Stevens said they were, my car should have come with two keys not one, and my TCL wiring was needing to be fixed for my Traction Control to even work properly.
If you do decide to purchase a vehicle through Ray Haskell Ford please be careful. Make sure you're not ripped off, signing to a made-up amount/down payment, make sure you don't sign something you don't get a copy of, make sure everything your salesmen tells you is recorded, make sure all your paperwork is filed correctly with your credit union, and make sure your loan advisor doesn't bullshit information on your loan paperwork just to push through the application.
