Ray's Heating and Air replaced my air conditioning condenser last year and did a very poor job. First, they replaced a 3 1/2 ton 10 seer unit with a 4 ton 13 seer unit but did not replace the coil. A couple of hours after they left from installing the system it turned on to cool off the house and we heard a loud thumping noise. When I called Ray he came out and said that he needed to replace the coil which would be another $1, 100.00 over the $1, 500.00 that I just paid him. He said he was going to have to cut into the beam in the attic to get the new coil installed. Since it was September and only a few weeks away from the cooler weather I decided to wait until the spring. I wasn't comfortable having the beam cut into so I called several other companies none of which said that they would have to cut into the beam, but also said the coil was not the problem. The Freon was leaking out of the new unit from one of the two lines go into the unit due to poor sodering of the lines. The company that is fixing it said that the company (Ray's) should have seen that when they installed it and fixed it right then and there. All of my Freon leaked out and now the Freon and repair of the line cost me an additional $650.00 that I would not have to have paid if Ray's did the job right. Ray may have done better work in his younger years but his work now is sub par at best. When I called him and told him how upset I was about it he insisted that he needed to change out the coil and he was sorry I felt that way. Well, the coil has not been replaced and the system is working fine now, so beware of doing business with Ray's Heating and Air.
