bad furniture
I bought a dining room set from Raymour and Flanigan. Within 2 weeks the chairs weakened and could not be used. They were stapled by their "staff". Next the screws became loose on the chairs and table. They sent someone over to tighten them. Hey! The heaviest person in our household weighs 130 pounds! Now they are giving me a run a round about replacing this set. Don't buy from Raymour and Flanigan.

Delivery and Customer Service
My husband and I went shopping for a new mattress. We were very pleased with the selection and service at the Raymour and Flanigan in Freehold. The problem was with the delivery and the customer service dept after delivery. What a NIGHT MARE! To begin with the drivers acted as if they were unable to speak any english (how are they driving and how did they get jobs?) next they had NO tools to set up the furiture... finally they put a hole in my wall and ceiling and then tried to hand me a $20 bill and told me to go to Home Depot. The customer service dept referred me to their boss who was so NASTY that I hung up on him and phoned back customer service. They (the company) DID NOTHING! My poor sales person did try but he was the only one that made an effort to help us. The company NEVER paid to get the holes in my wall or ceiling fixed, that cost me almost $300. LONG STORY SHORT... I love the mattress, loved the experience in the store... BUT DON'T USE THEIR DELIVERY if you love their product find a different way to get it into your home because their delivery dept and customer service STINKS!

Prices are always Negotiable
Don't plan on walking into a Raymour and Flanigan store if you have no intention of buying. I say this because they believe that everyone that comes in is a buyer and not just someone casually coming in to look around. a salesperson is instructed to pounce on you within 10 seconds of sooner of you walking in. You will be basically interrogated as to why youre here, what you are looking for, when you want delivery, being told about financing, being told about keeping the furmiture clean, have you ever been in a raymour store before. even after you just say im just looking. All this within a minute of walking in and looking around. Makes shopping a very unsettling experience. Another i witnessed was that you can get heavy deep discounts here as long as you ask and are persistent. I have had friends who shop there get discounts as high as 20% off and get 1 year or 2 years to pay for it. Also delivery charges are easily cut too. The thing is, the customer who walks in 5 minutes before you will pay one price and someone else buying the same exact thing will pay a different price. The reason? Managers dont want to lose any business. They will cut any deal whatsoever so dont be shy about asking for deep deep discounts. They also have what they say are private sales but these sales are EVERY WEEK usually only good on one particular day. You can get these private sale pricing anyday of the week. Just say you know about the upcoming weekly private sale and say im here to buy today and not wait a few more days. Guaranteed they will do the deal. This company can only exist due to the fact that everything is negotiable. So if you go in there you never ever have to pay the price thats listed. so this kinda makes up for the over bearing salespeople there. They probably are so pressured to make a sale they will give you anything that you ask.

Terrible Consumer Service - Westchester, NY
Less than a year ago, I purchased a sofa from Raymour and Flanigan. Recently, I noticed the cushions on the couch were wearing and falling apart. Still under warranty, I connected consumer service to have the sofa cushions repair. My experience started out innocuous; date scheduled and contact information confirmed. This was the last time I had any faith in its consumer service. The appointment was never met and after several call and emails to the Statford, CT service desk no one has yet to replied to me, explaining why they stood me up or trying to reschedule. While Raymour and Flangian may have quality consumer service in its stores (I had a great experience in the Yonkers, NY store), it saddens me that it does not stand behind its merchandise or value customers once the sale is complete. I would NEVER work with or purchase anything from them again because of the lack of respect if has for its customers.

bad sales practices
I recently purchased a pair of recliners from Raymour and Flanigan in Syracuse, NY. From the moment I set foot into their store, I felt that something was wrong. The salesperson would not allow me to browse on my own and stayed within a few feet of me at all times. Since shopping is not my favorite thing, I quickly found a chair that I liked and told him I needed two of them. I told him that the color I wanted was beige. Well, when they delivered the chairs, only one was beige and the other one was green. I told the delivery driver to take back the green one and get me a beige one. He said they could not do that and that I would have to call the store and set up an exchange. Even after telling this driver that I was refusing delivery of the wrong chair, he rudely said there was nothing he was going to do about it and got in his truck and left. I called the store and talked to the salesman who wrote this order, and was told that if I got two different colors, I must have ordered it that way. He said that once the order is signed and the merchandise delivered, it is considered accepted by the customer and not returnable. After a lengthy conversation and several phone calls, they finally agreed to take back the wrong chair and deliver the correct one, but insisted that I would have to pay a second delivery charge as well as paying the regular price for the replacement chair since it was no longer on sale. After more phone calls and long conversations, they finally agreed to waive the delivery charge and exchange the chair. I cannot believe how terribly they treated me. Afterall, this was their mistake. They delivered the wrong item and kept refusing to admit their mistake. And they wanted to charge me more money! I was expecting someone to say they were sorry for the mistake and they would make it right, but that never happened.

Customer Service
I purchased a Tempurpedic queen size mattress set. I discussed the price with the sales person, who marked it down due to payment
in 30 days . I went to look at more furniture and the salesman said that he spoke to the store manager to see if she could offer a better price.
The agreed upon price was on my bill along with a sofa and recliner. The day the furniture arrived, only a mattress was delivered.
Even the rude, abrupt, angry delivery man agreed that since I was going from a full size bed to a queen, I needed the box spring. He called the store and I thought the box spring would be delivered the next day. The rude, abrupt, angry delivery man said that he was leaving the mattress.
I expressed my concern that I didnot have the room for it . He assured me that he found a place to lean it and it would be fine. He leaned it
half sticking out a window. It was too heavy for me to move so I was glad that it did not rain. The next day the queen box spring was delivered
by the local warehouse men who were very nice and apologized that it could not be taken upstairs and that I needed a split spring.
Why didn't the salesman ask the question ? Why didn't the rude, abrupt, angry delivery man not know this and tell Raymour and Flannigan ?
I then got my bill and the price of the mattress set had increased by $420 . The store manager told me that they donot discount
Tempurpedic and I would need to pay the added expense. How could a store tell you one price, change it due to their own problem and
then make you pay the extra money ? The manager told me that she spoke to the salesman and he would be reprimanded for the error.
Not my problem. I agreeded to the price, the salesman made a error on the receipt and the manager validated that he did discount the
set in error. Not my problem. Then the manager offered me a store coupon. Like I would ever step foot in the store again.
Later that week same set was on sale at Boscov's for less. I just purchased a chair from overstock.com and was well satisfied. Raymour and Flanagan does have competition out there who have better customer service and better prices. They don't seem to realize that they donot have a monopoly on furniture . As I shared my story with friends, family, coworkers, social groups and basically anyone who would listen, I was
told stories about their negative comments about the problems that they also experienced with Raymour and Flannigan.

avoid doing business with this company
Their products are just what everyone has said. Junk. Not only is it not the same quality that is displayed in the showroom but it arrives damaged. They attempted to deliver three pieces to my home this morning, they never made it past the sidewalk. All three pieces have been returned and the credit card company notified. I will never do business with these people again. The sales women seemed nervous when she was writing up the order, I now know why. How does a company like this stay in business?

Very unhappy with the quality of the construction
Bought some new furniture there and very unhappy with the quality of the construction. Tired to get a refund and they were not interested in gearing my complaint.
I hope the Ceo of the company sees my complaint here and wants to help me with my problem.

Quality/Deliver
It is ironic that I came across this site the day I started looking for a new living room set to replace the current one that I have had about 2 years. I purchased it from Raymour and Flanigan on Route 611 in Stroudsburg PA. The quality and workmanship is poor. I am about to call 1-800-got-junk to remove it. Even thought the couches have a lot of pillows you sink right to the bottom of the seat when you sit down. At the same time I purchased the living room furniture I had also purchased a chair for one bedroom and a recliner couch for another room. The sales man was more concerned about filling all my rooms with furniture. The chair never made it to my house because the 3 tims it was delivered it was damaged. And the couch got settled after 2 attempts. Please thing twice before you go thru with any purchases.

Poor service/poor quality
We have made multiple purchases from this store over the past few years due to lack of options. In general, it is overpriced junk. We bought a couch that was comfortable for the first year or two, and then the cushions and pillows started to become limp. Both my wife and I work full time and are >175 pounds, so it is not a case of overuse or stretching the physical limits of the couch.
Then, we bought an entertainment center from them. During delivery, they broke one of the legs on the center stand and ignored it happened. When I found it, they said I didn't mention it during delivery (which I could not have done because it happened as they slid it into place and I didn't find it until I was hooking up the television a few days later) so nothing could be done. Replacement was out of the question as they did not offer this model anymore.
Now, we just bought a bedroom set with the promise of no interest until 2014, provided we pay the first bill on time. We did not receive our first bill which prompted me to call customer service. Somehow, they had sent the bill to our address from 2 moves ago, even though they had billed us correctly for the entertainment center at our last residence and delivered to the correct address both times. We finally received out first bill (technically our second, since the first went to the wrong house, which I managed to pay anyway over the phone) and lo and behold, there was interest charged. I called CS again and they said I signed up for No Interest if I pay the entire balance (over $3000) within 30 days. Now I am disputing that.
Also, the salesperson that sold us the bedroom set "no longer works there".
Nice.
