customer service/back orders
I bought a lovely bedroom set at Raymour & Flanigan i was told 3day delivery i told them i would call to set up a date as my room was being painted and new carpeting was being put in. This was on a Tuesday, Friday i call to set up delivery im told the bed is back ordered and will not be available till the end of march something in which was not told to me!i go to the store to meet with the sales rep again he offers a free bed frame in which i already have one till the bed comes in and then he goes on to offer a 5o dollar gift card as i tell him give me a minute to think about it he leaves and steps back and says i missed a 4, 000 sale dealing with you again upon being told this i asked for a refund immediately! The staff needs to be taught how to speak to customers! very unprofessional not what you expect from such an establishment.

Sofa with 3 legs!
We ordered a sofa bed for our daughter and it was delivered with only 3 LEGS! We had to call customer service multiple times, they were nasty, and we paid for a new sofa bed but could NOT use it until for many many days and nights (and we had given away the old sofa bed) until the fourth leg arrived by mail (and we had to install it ourselves). You get what you pay for, most of their crap is made in CHINA--buy from Thomasville, more expensive but BETTER quality and not as expensive as Ethan Allen and custom made and lasts!

Non-delivery
Ordered a sofabed in November. I was given a date of 12/11 for delivery. They never showed up. Several calls that day led them to finally inform me that it had gone to the wrong warehouse (on Long Island) instead of to the one in Poughkeepsie so it could not be delivered. It took them until 3:30 that afternoon to tell me this. I had taken the day off from work and waited all day. After apologies they said they'd call when it was in the correct warehouse to set up a new delivery. It took more than a week of calls from me to finally find out it was ready. I had been told they would give me a date that would accommodate my schedule as this was for a house two hours north of my home. They then said it could only be delivered on Wed or Fri. I reluctantly agreed to 12/23. I took the day off from work, drove the 2 hours and AGAIN waited all day. AGAIN they did not come. AGAIN it took until 3:30 to find out that it was supposedly damaged and would not be delivered!! They told me that they had left a message that morning to this effect. NO SUCH MESSAGE WAS EVER LEFT. I cancelled the order. I had to go to the original store to get a refund including the delivery charge but no compensation for all the time, tolls, gas and inconvenience that this had cost me. I would never trust them again.

DAMAGED
Feels so good after so many years to buy a new bedroom set .. Spent 4000.00 plus dollars, So excited to have it delivered . And only to a shocking surprise all the furniture is damaged .. Is this the floor model i just bought or a return or what is this sitting in my bedroom . The funny part is i call and they act all in shock .

So i need to wait for a tech to come and look at it . Look at what . ohh to see if the damage can be fixed .. All the nicks and dents and marks what a joke .. And then what... u cant fix it buddy .

Oh but it gets better i got a limited stock set . So mr buddy wont be able to fix this . So theres nothing left, So i have no choice but to pick a new set .. You got to be kidding me right .

Special Orders and Customer Service
We recently moved and needed to purchase a new bedroom set for DD and a new sectional. DD's bedroom came and it is beautiful. Now is where the fun begins...

We went into the store and told them that we wanted a deep brown sectional. They showed us what was available and they wrote down a price for us--more than we wanted to pay but we really liked it alot.

We went home to measure and I came back to place the order. At this time I was told that the price given did not reflect the $200 extra needed to be paid for the special order color (strange since I told them that was the color we were looking for). Ok. Also, bc it would be a special order, I needed to put down 20% cash first. I questioned this bc I was financing the entire thing on a R&F card. I told them I had to go home and discuss with DH.

I went back and asked if there was anything we could do about the 20% down bc we were financing the whole thing and just did not have the extra cash to put down. After being talked to like a scumbag (one who had already paid them $2000 for DD's bedroom set), I asked for the Customer Service number. They refused and after much debate, got a manager. I asked again for the # and she refused. So I went home, hopped online and found it. They laughed when I told them that said there was nothing they could do about the 20% down and asked if I could put anything down. I was more than willing to put down 15% (like I had explained in store ten times).

Fast forward and we receive the couch today--6 weeks later. The configuration that the lady and I had discussed, and drawn out, is not possible bc of the shape of one of the pieces. We moved it aroun 10 times and it just does not work. It justs out and cuts off our doorway!!! And instead of facing out, like an L-shaped sectional shoudl do, it faces in on each other. All for $3000!!!

So I call the store and they say that there is probably nothing they can do bc it was a special order. I explain that the sales woman and I discussed this and I was told how it would fit and even the delivery men said it could not be done that way. They told me that I will have to wait to talk to my salesperson and see IF they can do anything. They suggested switching out a piece or two but the whole reason we bought this one for so much more $ was specifically bc of the piece that does not work!!!

No resolution as of yet.

Stalker Salespeople
I wanted to address this with Raymour and Flannigan directly but there is no where to put comments on their website. Maybe this is how the sale people are taught, but it needs to stop. Recently my boyfriend and I have (sometime with parents in tow) been visiting two different area Raymour and Flannigan stores. Everytime there is someone waiting at the door for you. Don't bother with "we're just looking" "we're doing just fine" "we don't need any help" or even, "Please for the love of God go away!!!" Everytime we were relentlessly stalked, our every move shadowed by an over zealous salesperson. Raymour, calm yourself!! I felt like I couldn't casually walk around your showroom and view your merchandise as I was running most of the time to get away from your sales people. At one point I asked for one of their style guides at the customer service kiosk. I was asked if we were greeted at the door. I said of course. I was told that only Joe Salesperson could hand me that. Would you like me to page them for you, she asked. I promptly put my palm to my face, sighed and said no thanks. What is the point of Customer Service if you must be hand-fed by a salesperson. Please stop the stalking, Raymour and Flanigan!

DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY. I recently went to this store looking for furniture. The sales person begged us to open a line of credit since he gets a kick back from that. We decided not to get the furniture because of issues with shipping dates and asked the sales person to cancel the order. About 3 weeks later, we received a Raymour and Flanigan credit card! Despite the fact that we never signed any paperwork or authorized this account to be opened. I believe this actually amounts to credit card fraud.

Platinum Protection Plan
My wife and I purchased a leather couch and recliner in Jan 08 and were duped into buying the insurance against damage to the furniture including claw marks from cats. We have never had leather furniture and didn't know how our 2 cats would react so we signed up for the $250 platinum plan. Upon reading the protection plan details I found that rips, punctures, cuts and burns are covered but not animal claws, beaks or teeth. Issa Doud was the salesman...LIAR..

Very rude saleswoman
My husband was in the Wilkes Barre store on the 20th of August. He was looking for a mattress as ours is in poor condition. When he was approached by a woman, she immediately insinuated that he was looking for something cheap & on the showrooom floor.
This woman seemed to assume that my Husband, Tom, since he was dressed in jean shorts and a t-shirt, was looking for something inexpensive. That is the way she treated him. When she asked her co-worker if there were any mattresses on display, that were CHEAP, she was told no then nformed my husband she couldn't help him. My Husband was treated very rudely by this woman He was given the impressions that due to the fact he wasn't in a suit & tie they didn't want to be bothered with his buisness. He was so upset with the way he was treated, he came home and was in a outrage. We then went to EFO and purchased a $875.00 mattress, from a company who treated customers the way they should be treated, not like someone who came in off the street with no money to his name. I hope that this rude woman was working on commission, she lost a nice size one. We told all our friends of this episode and they agreed they would not be frequenting this store. My Husband, Tom, has many friends and is well loved in our community, so you can forget ever seeing a lot of their friend, relatives, and anyone they can tell of this very low life treatment at your store. They all felt the same way as to the way he was treated.

Cheap Furniture/Horrible Customer Service/High Prices
DO NOT BUY FURNITURE FROM THIS STORE!!! I brought a livingroom set from there and when it was delivered the chair arm was ripped, I demanded a new one and got a new chair a week later and guess what is was ripped too, same spot ! After the 3rd chair was delivered without a rip I accepted it. About a month later I brought a mattress and when it was delivered it had a weird giant hump in the middle I refused it and demanded a new mattress, when the 2nd one came it had the same weird hump, here's the thing the delivery guy said, "Miss don't buy nothing from this store its all junk" needless to say, you have to fight with customer service every step of the way. The warranties aren't worth the paper they are written on.
I can'ty wait until they go out of businesss I am going to celebrater.
