Dec 2004 purchased an RCA HiDef 50" TV - Model HD50DLPW165 for $ 2000. Jan 2006 the lamp went out (apparent common occurrence) which cost $ 300. Aug 2007 the "Digial Module" went out - $ 475 for part, $ 175 for labor. That's $ 950.00 in less than 3 years (what's next?). Contacted RCA numerous times - Result: Computer generated e-mail acknowledgment thanking me for my interest and referred me to their service provider Thomson Network.
Went through the 800 voice-mail-maze which referred me to another 800 number - on where I could find a technician. (Thanks but that was accomplished when the lamp went out). Disappointed in the quality of the TV and the lack of any customer service from RCA or Thomson. Obviously I will never purchase RCA products.
I wish I did more research prior to making my expensive purchase - er, mistake.
