Horrendous Transportation Security
My fiancee and I drove 2 hours to the airport last night with one of his friends to go pick up one of their fellow marines. We went to terminal 1 where he was going to be and left the car outside for only a moment so we could go find his friend. Baggage claim was taking awhile so we went outside to move the car up. When we got outside a security employee shouted, "Is this your vehicle?" I told him that yes, it was. He said, "Well you left it unattended, I want it out of here right now." I said ok, but we were waiting for someone and where were we supposed to park. I got the response, "Get it out of here now or I'll slap a 50 dollar ticket on it." "Great." I said agitatedly and moved the car while my fiancee went inside to help his friend with the bags. I couldn't believe how rude this person was being for no apparent reason. I had moved the car as instructed and still his rudeness persisted. As soon as my fiancee disappeared inside, the man walked over to me again. I had pulled behind a minivan who was also waiting. He said, "Ma'am, I'm not going to tell you again to get that car out of here!" I said, "What? I'm waiting on someone to come out with their bags. I don't know where to go around here and I don't have a phone to tell everyone where I'm going." He replied, "Well you aren't going to sit here. Drive around the airport, I don't care." Mortified, I drove off and circled around again. This time when I tried to stop and look inside for my fiancee and his friends, the same guy motioned for me to keep driving. What I didn't understand is that I saw other people sitting there waiting in their vehicles. About the fourth time of driving through he motioned for me to stop and park where the other vehicles were. My fiancee and his friends had been waiting outside right before i drove up and had asked the man where i was. They could not understand what he had done either and when asked why, he responded to them as rudely as he had to me. I take offense to the fact that my fiancee and other marines risk their lives fighting for the freedom of this country and they get treated like total crap. The man told me (condescendingly) that his name was Rodger White, and that he would be glad for me to go talk to his supervisor. I don't know why, I mean, are they ok with the security personnel being excessively rude and unaccomodating to customers? Apparently so. In my opinion he needs to be suspended or fired for such behavior. Overall, RDU made my night into a nightmare.
