Terrible experience!
First a screen advertising a subscription to their magazine came up along with other web sites to select. Then when the next web site was selected the full screen had an area that indicated that there was a place to logon but there was none.

Send books and invoices without our concern!
We have received a book worth £18.49 and its bill without our concern, we were not ordered any books from reader's Digest. It mentioned that we have to pay this bill with in 28 days, that book is not useful for us.

Never received free bonus gift!
Even though subscription is no where near the expiration date I keep receiving renewal notices & phone calls. It is very confusing when you know you just renewed the subscription and you receive a notice yours is expiring. Also they offered a free 1-year bonus gift subscription plus a free gift subscription for a family member also a free desk calendar & pocket calendar ( which has never been received) I called their 800 number and they said they ran out of them & reordered them but it will be 8-12 weeks before I will receive them) Hello, that's 3 months into the new year I needed the dsk top NOW! I received a call yesterday stating my subscription will end in April, which I replied I just renewed AGAIN in Nov., that evening I received a book in the mail and my expiration date is DEC. 08. My family really enjoys the Reader's Digest but I think they are SCAMMING people!

Objectionable cover!
We have received Reader's Digest for many years and have especially enjoyed the clever artwork on the back cover titled Our America. It was a great shock and disappointment to see the back cover of this new January issue!! Probably the company paid a nice sum for the outside cover but my husband was very offended by the photo and cut off the page and crumpled it up in the trash.

Cannot subscribe to Free Gift Offer!
Received with the magazine (Reader's Digest) a gift offer to log into www.rd.com/surprise for Surprise Gift waiting for me. Their website would not bring up the area to log-in for this free gift offer. This is not fair to the subscriber to offer something and then fool us in their directions as to how to log-in. What's their answer to us for this misconception...

Poor Customer Service
A customer care manager at Reader's Digest made a commitment to me on October 1, 2007. When the commitment remained unmet, I contacted the corporate offices of Reader's Digest seeking help. On October 30, 2007, Reader's Digest sent me a message which made reference to legal counsel, which could be considered a threat. Reader's Digest has lost me as a customer because of the company's refusal to honor a commitment, choosing instead to send me a message which could be interpreted as a threat.

Misrepresentation of bill!
I received a bill from Readers Publication Services indicating it was for Reader's Digest. I paid the $24.76 installment and then ironically a couple of days later I received a bill from Reader's Digest. I thought I had paid the wrong place so paid the bill from Reader's Digest and didn't pay any more to Readers Publications Services. Low and behold, we get a threatening statement indicating we would be referred to a collection agency for a whole $24.76. When we called to inquire, the lady (and I use that word loosely) indicated we should have read the back of the statement. Hm, sounds like a racket to me.

Cheating Subscribers
Dear All,
As everybody knows, it was a prestige to have the subscriber of Reader's Digest earlier. But now a days, if you are the subscriber of RD, you are cheated. They frequently send you letters with colourful information with your name printed on the shiny papers as if you are only the MOST VALUED CUSTOMER of Readr's Digest. The books they publish are really good . But on the other hand, they are too expensive. Many books are changed only with Titles and reprinted. Why such a good branded magazine is cheating people across the globe? They will provoke you to buy books every time by promising FREE GIFTS. Please do not subscribe RD in future nor order for their books. They should not play such a cheap drama to sell their product. They should apologise with people across the globe before brand name image spoils. People who are with me of this opinion can mail me and share your bad experience if any.
