Surprise Gift
I received a card with my Readers Digest magazine that said as a preferred subscriber, i had a free gift coming to me, all I had to do was go to the website www.rd.ca/surprise.
I got a surprise alright. when I went to the website there was nothing, no gift period.
I thought Readers Digest was a reputable company but I'm beginning to have my doubts. Have any others out there received this same invite and had the same results.

Beware of "FREE GIFTS"
For the 2nd time this year, Readers Digest without my knowledge/request and or approval, has sent another "FREE GIFT" to my address through US Mail. This is always followed with a $49 bill for the "FREE GIFT" within 2-3 weeks. BEWARE OF THIS SCAM !! Has this one time reputible company sunk so low that it must attempt to scam the general public for some cash flow?

Surprise Gift offer
I have been getting Readers Digest Products for years. I'm now 70 years old. Every so often, I get a card from Readers Digest telling me to go to www.rd.com/surprise that a free gift is waiting for me(preferred subscriber Surprise gift offer) . Never happens...could never get to that web site. I think something should be done about this.
Thank you!

Billing Scam
After receiving and responding to a Readers Digest Sweepsakes e-mail, I received a Readers Digest "Gift" book in US Mail approximately 1 week later. The packaging read "Your Free Gift". This was not requested/ordered from me and I assumed that this was a thank you gift for participating in their sweepstakes. Shortly thereafter, I received a bill from Readers Digest in the amount of $43.15. After inquiring with their Customer Service Dept, I have their permission to return to book providing I pay for shipping costs. Please be leary of anything Readers Digest sends you labled "Free Gift". Don't get taken like I did.
