I took out a glass shelf from my Amana refrigerator, and as I set it into the sink (gently and carefully) to wash it, it shattered into a billion pieces. Luckily I was wearing glasses, so no glass got into my eye.

How come they don't make the glass shatter-proof, as in a windshield.
