My story is pretty much the same as the other chap's. I am out of the country and paying off my final bill with Century Link, who tell me I owe them NOTHING. They bought out Embarq about 8 months ago, which should have been the first clue. The illiterate English would have been another, but as I did not know the mistakes were made by the person handling my post and bills or this company, I freaked out in London and paid these jackasses the $44.32 they said that had been turned over to them (I had never even received a final bill, by the way and it had not been even 30 days) but also charged me $11 to PROCESS their own fraudulent charges. I have notified my bank and am hoping that because it was on my visa debit, hey may be able to get the money back from me because the phone company has assured me that I owe them nothing and thanked me for being such a great customer. I have written to these jerks to tell them this is an FBI trans-state matter and I won't hesitate to report it.
