Red Bank Vet group in Tinton Falls, NJ did not give me the estimate I asked for prior to spaying my dog. I asked for an estimate from the doctor that first saw her then I asked several staff people asking them to simply give me an estimate before spaying my dog. They never called me back and when I called they just gave me a run around. I was supposed to get a call the day before the surgery, but I did not. I finally called them and asked for the estimate and instructions on whether or not my dog was to be spayed and whether they had any pre-op instructions! They gave me the instructions but said no one was there who could give me my estimate. I would find out the day of the surgery.

When we brought my dog in, the estimate was between $400.00 and $600.00 to spay my dog. I had made several business travel dates around her surgery and felt obligated to go through with the surgery. After doing an expensive exploratory with anesthesia it was found that the dog, a pound puppy, had already been spayed at some time earlier in her life! I felt awful! Also, I was still charged $675.00 plus.
