Hidden charges
I recently purchased an item for £1.95 from the Redsave website. 2 months later I discovered that they had used my card details to help themselves to £19.95 for the last 2 months.

I retraced my steps on the website and discovered that although it is stated on th summary page that there is a free 30 day subscription it is not immediately clear that you are signing up to a rolling contract. I contacted them to see if I could get a refund, but of course they just returned their 'standard issue' reply.

I am disgusted that a company who is known to be conducting busness in this way is still allowed to operate and profit from sneaky, underhand tactics.

Beware of these, and others like them
I bought a digital photo frame from this bunch and have just found out that I have been paying £19.95 a month, every month, from last October, after failing to "untick" a box to say I didn't want to be a member of the site, and, consequently, after "a month's free trial" I inadvertantly became a full member and have been billed this said amount, I only noticed on this month's statement.

Beware of these, and others like them... I am appalled...

taking money without permission
I purchased a paddling pool from redsave.com, via their website, i have since found out they have been charging my debit card 19.95 a month for their subscribtion, which i never signed up for, they have been taking money from me without my consent, so they have been stealing it, i wish i never purchased anything from the robbing people ever, they never answer the phone either, im sooooo angry

misleading
When you purchase a product you are automatically joined tto the company's club for which you are charged £19.90 a month after 30 days. No benefits come from the membership, it is difficult to cancel, hundreds of people have complained about this scam and it isn't clear on the orginal purchase documentation that this will happen. The company is VERY difficult to contact. Myonly way of cancelling membership was to close down my credit card!

removing fund fromcard
Be careful purchasing from this firm and READ the small print, buying goods from them puts you in for their "redsave pass" and allows them to deduct £19.95 from your account each month. The money is non refundable if you cancel the account. Spoke to their accounts department who stated that this was all legal and that they worked closely with Trading Standards. I bet they do.

MONEY BEING TAKEN FROM ACCOUNT
I HAVE ONLY JUST REALISED A YEAR AFTER SOME THING THAT I BROUGHT FROM REDSAVE THAT THEY HAVE BEEN TAKING £19.95 FROM MY CREDIT CARD.
I WAS VERY UNAWARE THAT THIS WAS HOW THIS SITE WORKED AND MY CHEAP PADDELING POOL ! HAS COST ME £220 PLUS WHAT I PAID FOR POOL.
MY CONPLAINT IS THAT I DID NOT KNOW THAT I WAS ENTERING INTO A CONTRACT THAT I WOULD BE PAYING £19.95 TO BE IN SOME SORT OF CLUB?
I ONLY REALISED THAT THIS PAYMENT WAS COMING OUT BECAUSE I HAD NOT SPENT ANYTHING ON MY CREDIT CARD THIS MONTH AND THOUGHT IT A BIT ODD, SO I LOOKED BACK A FEW STATMENTS AND THERE IT WAS AGAIN.
I HAVE NOW CANCELLED MY " CLUB" AND HOPEFULLY WILL NOT BE SEEING ANYMORE PAYMENTS COMING OUT.
IS THERE ANY WAY I CAN GET MY MONEY BACK FROM THIS COMPANY? OR DO I HAVE TO PUT IT DOWN AS BAD JUDGEMENT AND BE VERY CAREFULL WHO I SHOP WITH ON LINE?
I AM VERY UNHAPPY.
ANYWAY THANKYOU AND I HOPE THEY DO NOT GET TO MANY OTHERS?.

Fraud
Redsave offer goods for sale online that seem cheap. In fact, they're not that cheap but a few pounds saved is worth it, right?
WRONG. What they do is offer 30 days free membership after which they charge £19.95 per month to be a 'member'. What do you get for membership? NOTHING more than you can buy from their not-so-cheap site as much as you want.

Quite clever when you read the small print, but I who reads the small print? Especially when it's tucked away in some obscure area where you need to go looking for it.

When you call you get a robotic phone person who is paid good money to deflect your complaint and (so called) managers are alwas too busy to speak.

I've done £59.98 in cold blood. My advice is to AVOID REDSAVE at all costs...

Disgraceful Ripoff Company
I purchased a remote control helicopter for my boyfriends birthday which was faulty, when i sent it back to Redsave they denied ever receiving it. Five months later i find that they have been taking £19.95 from my bank account each month as a 'subscription', that apparently i signed up for. I have been in touch with Redsave and they told me there was nothing they could do about refunding the subscription but they would send me a new helicopter. When i received this one it won't even take off. I have now been told that i can't get a refund because i had 28 days to return the item and they are counting it from my first purchase date five months ago. This maybe their policy but it is not law under the Sales of Goods act 1979.

This company is wholly unethical and i believe it is set up to ripoff customers by signing them up to a subscription that is not clear as you don't start paying for that subscription for 3o days after first purchase. They take the money out of your account as a card transaction, which i believed had to be approved at each transaction but my bank tell me otherwise. Costumers will receive nothing for the subscription, not even an email every month promoting the company and goods, which all the other internet companies i have ever bought from and have not subscribed to do send. This, i believe, is so customers attention is not raised to the fact that they are paying nearly £20 per month for nothing! Customers can always buy at so called Redsave prices, they just need to know they have signed up to a subscription and cancel it in time and shop there as many times as they like. Although this is not illegal it is a questionable way to do business that prays on the general public who buy in good faith.

I have read many complaints about Redsave.com. They are very difficult to contact, I have got hold of their telephone number which is 01202674050, the company you get through to is Net Ex, ask for Redsave.

Whilst there doesn't seem to be anything I can do to get my money back from the subscription totaling £80, I am getting advice from Consumer Direct, Trading Standards and the Information Commissioners Act. I have also made a complaint to Watchdog after reading all the similar complaints about this company and their highly unethical way of doing business. I strongly urge everyone out there who has had a similar experience to do the same. Lets put pressure on these shoddy internet shopping sights so that other people out there don't get ripped off.
