Failed to honor the policy they sold me
I was sold a regent policy by damar motors in Edenvale, It was stated that in the event of me been retrenched from my job they would pay three months on my vehicle. When I tried to use this policy I was informed that it only covers a person who was working for a south african company and not a International company.On me having a few meeting with Regent managers was told that they have got R7500.00 which I have paid but will not honour the agrement as I was working for U.S.A. company. I tried to explain to Ms N.Mnyandu and J Naidoo that when you work a contract over seas the Internationl companys do not use the word retrenched they say E.O.C. which means end of contract. They knew that when the policy was sold to me that I was working on a contract in Baghdad Iraq as had to produce pay slips.

Claim not resolved in 5 weeks
I logged a claim with Regents on the 1st of March. My son had an accident that Monday morning. I provided the REGENTS with all the documentation a day after I received their list of requirements. I am taking the matter to the Law Society and will be contacting the Ombudsman if my claim is not finalised in 24hours. I am not specifying the details of this matter as yet, as i will be logging it with the Ombudsman at first later today. I WILL POST THE DETAILS OF MY AGONY AFTER 24HOURS ON THE SITE.

I contacted Bianca via e-mail yesterday and later followed it uo with a phone call. She promised to get back to be before the end of the day(yesterday. Nothing happened. Bianca is very polite but there is no service from Regents Short term Insurance.

No body gets back to me and calls are always cut
Last year I purchased my car and was required to take credit life out. The company that the dealership was using was Regent Insurance Company.

I noticed and queried why am I being double debited by MFC and Regent for the same policy. I queried it last year around May and the dealership said that it would be rectified. This hasn't been done!!!

I got hold of MFC and they suggested that I speak to Regent themselves. I have since then tried numerous times to contact them and with exception of one time was cut off and would have to ring back again and again!

I eventually got hold of Bessy and faxed through all my details and she still hasn't gotten back to me or given me a refund. (250110) I have once again tried to contact Regent and failed as my call gets cut each and every time.

The fact that nobody can get to speak to someone at Regent is horrific and that nobody gets back to you is even worse.

I am going to go to the Ombudsman to see if I can get a resolution to this matter.

WHAT DISGUSTING SERVICE YOU OFFER! YOU GIVE ALL OTHER INSURERS A BAD NAME!!!

Incompetence, theft and misleading the customer
Someone crashed into my car. Regent Regent Insurance Company spent weeks investigating the incident. They had four different people call me and ask for information that I had already provided on day one. Then the third party investigators verified my info. Regent then SAID THEY WOULD PAY OUT MY CLAIM and TOOK the car.

A few days later they BROUGHT IT BACK and SAID THEY WOULD NOT PAY.

They mislead me.

They destroyed my tires with all the towing back and forth and they STOLE my spare wheel. I now have buy 4 new tires and my stolen spare wheel.

Car stolen, no response from Regent Insurance Company!
My Honda Balade got stolen on 19 September 2006. I reported the incident to Regent Insurance Company on the 20th September 2006. On the 29th September nothing had happened yet. I phoned the insurance company and spoke to Elize from the claims department, asking why the assessor haven't contacted me yet for I'm a single mom having difficulty getting the children to school and getting to work. After listening how competent she is in doing her work, and that I have to wait my turn, the assessor only contacted me on the 2nd October 2006. The 16th October I phoned the assessor again to beg them for a speedy closure. I phoned the Motor Finance Corporation to find out when the de-registration of the vehicle will go through. Their reply: there was no application for de-registration. I immediately reported back to the assessor. On 23rd October the same routine was followed, with the result that they only received the application for de-registration on the 20th October. Today 26 October 2006, Regent still haven't finalized the claim and my children and I still have to look into other peoples eyes to get to work and school. I have already phoned Regent three times today, to hear that they will phone back, without any results!
