Regis Salons Reviews

Lady Jenneiro October 3, 2009
Ladies beware
On Friday, April 7th, I went to Regis Hair Salon in Monroe, NC to get a relaxer put in my hair. I asked the hairdresser to style my hair using her fingers and not a comb.

On Saturday, April 8th, I started running my fingers through my hair and noticed my hair at the nape of my neck coming out. In fact, the hair at the nape of my neck was broke off. Two small places were bald.

I had two different stylists from two different locations look at my hair. Both agreed that there was definitely breakage...possibly due to the chemical not being washed out thoroughly.

That same Saturday, I called Regis and spoke with my hairdresser. She said it could have come from the chemical getting on the hair that had previously been colored or it could be from me being stressed. She asked me to come in.

Both the Manager and the Hairdresser looked at my hair. The Manager told me she didn't know what could have caused it to break off THAT BAD. Yes, they both apologized. The Manager told me she would give me one month of free treatments.

By the way, keep in mind that November of 2005...this same salon, different hairdresser dropped a curling iron in the middle of my forehead. Regis Corporation did receive a complaint from me. I was not seeking any restitution unless a scar was left on my forehead. Fortunately, due to some Good products which I paid for. there was no scar.

On Sunday, April 9th, I noticed my hair was brittle and still shedding. In fact, I noticed that the hair at the front of my head was also broke off. I called the salon back to let them know just like the Manager told me to do.

The hairdresser told me that they could only give me my money back. I asked the hairdresser would that be enough for her if she was in this situation. She said no. Needless to say, I did have prior plans for Sunday but I cancelled them because of my hair.

All of us ladies know that if your hair isn't right, nothing is.

On Monday morning, April 10th, I called Regis Corporation. I explained the situation to them. I also reminded them of the November incident which they pulled up.

The young lady I spoke with told me she would have to talk with the manager and call me back. Well, she told me that she did not talk to the Manager but she talked to the hairdresser. She said the hairdresser agreed that there were some issues.

Regis Corp agreed to give me my $68.00 back for the relaxer. They did not say anything about the tip. They also agreed to give me somewhere between $60-$75 dollars for treatments at one of Regis salons. She continued by saying that their treatment costed $10 each.I apologize that I do not remember the exact amount. By this time, I'm not too happy.

All I wanted was for Regis to give me my $68.oo back along with the $10.00 tip and to pay for me to have some deep, conditioning treatments done at a salon of my choice.

Why would I want to go back to a Regis salon?

Is it too much to ask for me to have some good treatments to try to correct what they messed up?

My hair was healthy and long. I paid a professional for a service. The result was negligence and now the corporation is telling me what they won't do.

Racists
I recently visited the Regis Salon at the North Park Center mall in Dallas, TX & was refused service because I am Black. The manager offered a number of incredible excuses (such as 'the stylists are about to leave", "the stylists are all booked"; all of which were obviously bogus) as to why I could not be serviced. I discourage anyone from patronizing a business that operates in this manner. If anyone else has had a similar experience, please email me as I would not be surprised if this is not a systemic problem at the Regis Salons.

Don't go there
The Regis Hair Salon in Tulsa Ok. located inside the promenade mall, has some very unprofessional stylists, one in particular named Akishia, always tries to takes the other stylists clients, she practically jumped over the counter to tell me my regular stylist was gone that day but she could do my hair at a cheaper rate, which I think is really unprofessional and reflects badly on the salon as a whole, what type of disloyalty do they have? This is not the first time it has happened, I would assume that if a persons regular stylist is gone, unless requested, they would try and reschedule. several of the stylists leave the salon during a job, they talk about things that should not be talked about in a place of business, not all a few of the stylist are wonderful, I do not want to mention names because I am afraid that this is the type of place that may take it out on them. Regis needs to look things over and see the bad apples and the good ones. In this salon I would have to say they have maybe have six good stylists, excluding the manager Erin. She should not be manager, she has terrible skills. I am thinking of taking my business elsewhere just because of the atmosphere of the salon. I return because I like my stylist, if she left I would leave too.

Never again
I had recently gone to Regis for a haircut and colour. The stylist totally sucked. I was charged $137.00 for what. The stylist was totally rude. The service sucked. I would never go back there in this life time. My hair is totally fried. The haircut that I got isn't remotely close to the picture I showed the lady. She acted as if I were bothering her. She had hurried me along because four people had come in behind me without an appointment. I got the brunt end of the stick because she had too many people to deal with. I would never recommend that anybody goes there. Not even my dog.

Horrible
I went to get a hair cut and highlight, and it’s horrible.

I wanted Golden highlights and instead my highlights are BLONDE!!! I paid so much for full highlights and my front bangs don’t have any highlights on them.

First they were all friendly and when time for payment came the stylist was like oh I had to put in so many solutions so its going to be more. I mean you wasted my time, ruined my hair, and over charge me. WOW..

Please don’t ever visit Regis at Woodsfield mall in Schaumburg IL. They are horrible.

Charge more and give worst service.

They are awful
Well, I walked on the wild side and decided to be a "walk in" at Regis in North Richland Hills Texas at the mall. I told the very pregnant receptionist that I usually saw a very experienced "master stylist". She said she was no longer there...SO, she thought it would be a funny thing to give me to their very new and inexperienced "regular" stylist. She was sweet, but I knew right away she was new and did not know what she was doing. Nevertheless, I let her cut my hair. I even showed her a picture of what I wanted. (A simple cut)..She used some awful and basic cutting technique and kept asking me every time she made a cut, if that was the right length. She burned by ear with the blow dryer and then took twenty minutes to blow dry my hair after piling on the wrong hair products. Anyway, I went to the manager, who thought I looked "fine"...she said "do you want it restyled?? She did not really care that I hated my hair...she was the manager, and her responses were very unsatisfying and Regis obviously does not teach their managers regarding how to keep their customers. I looked terrible, and she just kept saying we can redo it. But I did not want to sit there with the girl who just cut my hair so badly. Worst hair cut. Never going back ever. BTW: She used to cut hair at SUPERCUTS. And, I definitely got a super cut...but 40 dollars and no styling whatsoever. The manager should be fired...but you can only fire white people for poor performance.

Never again
I had my hair colored at Regis and it was a total disaster. I called them and they basically told me too bad!!! I could not get a refund nor did they offer to re-colour my hair. Please don't use their services and they offer no support when things go wrong. They put all the blame on the consumer and don't accept any responsibility on their part. My hair bled, it was green and patchy. I would have been a great Halloween costume contender. They just do not care. So after you give them your hard earned money and things goes awry do not expect them to make any corrections.

They ruined my hair and would not pay me
In 02/08 I went in asked for a rinse, the stylist gave me a permanent color that ruined my hair. I wrote Regis, they refunded my money but said they could not pay me when I had to have all my hair cut (that or buy a wig) so I actually paid them to ruin my hair. I sent them some hair to show how the permanent color ruined my hair. If it hadn't been cut, all the bald spots and missing edges were too noticeable. I now have to pay to get my hair in condition again.
