Reliance Netconnect Reviews

A SINGH April 2, 2010
poor service/very slow speed
Hi,
I have bought the RELIANCE Netconnect USB modem and i am the regular user of this product for last one month but i am very distressed to tell you that it's browsing and surfing speed is very slow and i am very angry as i had already complaint against it but nothing has happened.I request you to please do something soon or else i will have to take any serious action against you.

Worst Worst Service
I purchased a Reliance netconnect broadband +, 3.1 mbps on 7th January, 2010. The person who came to give me device game a two numbers (Nilseh - 9987402559, Dinesh - 9920551022) to contact if there is any problem. I paid Rs. 3500/- cash to that person. He said that connection will be activated in next 24/48 hours, but it’s not so I called on both the numbers but are not picking up the any call. They haven’t picked up the call for a single time and worst of it both the numbers had disconnected the call many times. My connection is not activated till date. I called up on the customer care number on 1800-3000-5555, they are asking about the some customer application number but that person hasn’t given me that too. What can be done to activate my connection.
November 1, 2009
Problems on all fronts
FORM THE DAY I ACTIVATED on 29-9-2009, I HAVE NOT EXPERIENCED ANYTHING OTHER THAN FRUSTRATION AND EXASPERATION, DISAPPOINTMENT IS TOO POLITE AN EXPRESSION FOR THE IND OF EXPERIENCE.

SPEED: The main consideration of getting this connection the so-called "LIGHTENING SPEED" is a FALSE claim. This used is located in heart of the city of Hyderabad and the best I could record was just 500 kb/s of download.

USAGE CHECK: The default web page that appears on connecting is misleading. It does not serve the purpose. After a month long struggle with the atrocious customer care service the procedure is tedious to say the least. Even after getting all the guidance the main web page <myservices.relianceada.com> failed to open on repeated attempts. Even the pin number was elusive and customer care executive had to be coxed to give on line as it was not forthcoming on e mail. Even here like true underworld like procedure twice the call dropped at the nick of time. Real suspense. TILL THIS MOMENT I HAVE NOT SEEN MY ACCOUNT AND USAGE WITH MY OWN EYES.

CUSTOMER CARE: Initially the numbers will not connect. After a great deal toll free number did connect bu the people who respond are not able to resolve any thing. e mail complaints - ditto.

RELIANCE NOW STANDS FOR UNRELIABLE AND I AM NOT AT ALL SURE THAT THESE FELLOWS WILL BE HONESTLY. IN ANY CASE I AM NOT KEEN IN CONTINUING THE ASSOCIATION BUT FOR THE AMOUNT SPENT.

Here is the record of mail for perusal for those who are interested.

I AM SORRY BUT I DO NOT FEEL LIKE EXTENDING CUSTOMARY GREETINGS

I AM STILL WAITING FOR YOUR RESPONSE. TOLL FREE CUSTOMER DID GIVE ME A PIN NUMBER. BEFORE I COULD TEST THE CALL GOT TERMINATED. THEN THE PAGE DID NOT OPEN. BEFORE THAT JUST WHEN PIN NO. WAS ABOUT TO BE GIVEN THE CALL GOT TERMINATED. NOW WITH WEB PAGE IS NOT AVAILABLE. SOUNDS MYSTERIOUS.

IF YOU ARE NOT HAPPY HAVING GIVEN ME THIS BROADBAND CONNECTION FORTHWITH AND JUST RETURN THE MONEY I PAID OUT OF MY PENSION. I DECLARE THAT I WILL NOT CLAIM ANY COMPENSATION.

ANY SELF RESPECTING ORGANIZATION WOULD HAVE BY NOW APOLOGIZED,

Hats off to RELIANCE (UN-RELIANCE) for sending polite mails but not actually resolving the issue. 32 days and the customer does not have a pin number. Innumerable calls and repeated e mails are falling on deaf ears and blind people. It was 24 years for pin to come (Mr. Pavan) then 48 hours (keeping his promise to check back he range up) and now after 60 hours the toll free number after obtaining all tedious details just informs me that the complain will be accorded high priority. OH MY GOD. Perhaps to add insult to the injury the toll-free number had a recorded message 'you can check you usage on line'. When asked the executive says 'actually it means from web'. This is not every amusing, it is sadistic.

What should I say 'THREE CHEERS' or 'TWO HOOTS' to RELIANCE COMMUNICATIONS AND ITS OWNERS.

I think it will be futile to expect a sane response if I request for refund of money in exchange of the data card. I am actually now scared for excessive billing with no change of redress. TRUE A SAD AND FRUSTRATING EXPERIENCE. THE LOCAL GUYS HAVE STOPPED TAKING MY CALL. I AM SURE AFTER A WHILE EVEN CUSTOMER CARE DEPARTMENT WILL DO THE SMAE.

JUST TO REMIND YOU PEOPLE THIS CUSTOMER IS 72 YEAR OLD AN EX COLONEL OF INDIAN ARMY.

Here is another surprise (unpleasant at that). Not one but three new passwords have come on my mobile. But none is useful. My user ID is supposed to be muqsith_1357 and the four passwords that I have including the one that came with ID. If I use the given ID it says you have entered e mail ID in correct format. The I use e mail IDs (hotmail and gmail) it says authentication failure retry. Will this cruel joke ever end?

As of now I am unaware of my usage.

I am glad that after all this struggle at least my complaint has found favor of registration. I am now awaiting the outcome.

Your queries have confused me as key information is already with you however, at the pain of repeating I am once again giving you the details:

Error Message: I do not understand what error message is expected when the number is not recognized by the telephone network... The standard reply is 'this number does not exist please check the number'.

Since when customer is facing problem; As already mentioned earlier I am facing this problem from day ONE.

The information required is not relevant to my main problem of NOT BEING ABLE TO CHECK USAGE EVEN AFTER SUCCESSFUL REGISTRATION AND PROVISION OF USE ID AND PASSWARD BY YOU. Please focus on this first. Speed comes later. Speeds shoots upto 1mb but only occasionally. Mostly it remains about 200kb or less. It proves the limitation of handling traffic in YOUR system. My system has nothing to do with this as on the same system with the same operating system I have logged speeds of 1.5 gh on BSNL limited download packages. This is not the case with unlimited download package. They have conceded this fact. Their reasoning and for that matter every one else's business tactics is to force the customer to opt for higher value packages. On that score I have no doubt. After all honesty and integrity is business has been given go bye by even the well known business houses during this period of so called globalization and development d After broad band does not mean unlimited width. Service providers themselves control it depending upon the packages opted by customers.Still I am submitting the details for whatever use it has.

Operating system. Window XP Professional with SP2&3.

Data card make and model. You should be having this detail as you have supplied this. I can read the label. It is EC 1260

Desktop/Laptop make and model. Zenith and HP both are in excellent shape.

Slow speed trend: Most of the time more so after 10 PM

With all sites/for particular sites facing this problem. Almost all sites as experienced by me. I have not carried out a specific study though.

Current location with landmark where you are facing the problem: I am located in the heart of the city of Hyderabad. (Mehdipatnam)

For further details, you can visit our web-site www.rcom.co.in or write to us at [email protected] or fax us at 022 3033 6565. You can also call Reliance Customer Care at *355, 30335555 & 1800-3000-5555. I HAVE ALREADY SAID NONE OF THESE HELP DEVICES ARE SERVING MY PURPOSE. REPEATING SAME THING IS FURTHER IRRITATING.

Yes, as I said, I did get a call on my mobile some time back the voice kept asking me to "enter the five digit extension you want to reach" HOW DO I KNOW THAT?

Any one who goes through my mails will pick a telephone and call me directly at a suitable time and get to know the problem. I received calls on my land line as well as mobile from all over - India and abroad. BUT I AM NOT SO LUCKY..

IT IS ALMOST A MONTH AND I DO NOT THE USAGE. AND I AM POSTPAID CUSTOMER...

All the best. My God bless us all.

Subject: Problems in contacting on tele.

022 3033 6565. You can also call Reliance Customer Care at *355, 30335555 & 1800-3000-5555 DO NOT CONNECT ON BSNL.

Dear Service Provider,

I purchased a broad band post paid connection form you on 29 sept. and since then trying to obtain a pass word for keeping a tag on my usage as the connection does not provide unlimited usage. Despite my best efforts in terms of number of people I have talked to and the time/money spent on calls, I have not received it so far. The last time I was contacted by a lady who obtained by e mail id and promised that the pass word will be sent withing 36 hours at the latest. Another 48 hours have passed and there is no sight of password.

Honestly, I am regretting the day I struck the deal on web. Now I am bad stuck with you with no easy way to get in touch with you. The number 3033 3333 is not accepted by BSNL Hyderabad.

Can I hope to get a response from you through e mail explaining me the issues involved for such atrociously disappointing experience.

Thanks and God bless you,
Sattu Jain October 6, 2009

I HAVE ATTACHED THE COPY OF N NUMBER OF EMAILS I SEND TO COMPANY TO SEND MY PIN. ONLY THING THEY WRITE IN THE MAIL IF THAT THEY HAVE FORWARDED THE ISSUE TO RIGHT DEPT.

Poor response
* I had booked datainterconnect through Internet.Vriti Infocom Pvt Ltd, Noida supplied data card through their bangalore office. One Mr Albert (099805 66266) was in touch untill he collected cash from me.Receipt No2543 dated 22/07/2009 is issued.
* Data card Details are : Connection taken for 3GB+10GB Broadband+.
RSN No.: RHWCD5220008012
Data card No. : 09343131782.
* It was promised to me by Mr Albert that the modem will be activated by 23rd July, 2009.It was not activated or the modem is not working.
* I tried to call Mr Albert everyday 5 to 6 times, but he is not receiving the call nor calling back.
* Then on I took your nearest Reliance world in Rajajinagar on 27th July. One Mr Sunil (08032944464) Tried on my laptop & also on his laptop. He confirmed that the Modem is defective & he told he will send his field person to rectify.
* Uptill 29th july nothing happened. When I started shouting at him, he gave me your customer care number (08032528444).One Shalini took the details. She was very rude in informing that her duty is only to take the complaint. After much of talk, she told she will arrange to send a field person within 24 hours.
* Nothing happened even on 30th july. One Mr Murali (9342928877) phoned & informed that he will send his service person on 31st July.Mr Jayadeva (9379695589) had visited my unit on 31st July & found out that the modem is faulty & had to be replaced.I have sent SMS to Albert. No reply.
* Immediately I called Mr Albert, he didn't receive the call.I called your Customer care Shalini as usual very rudely informed that they cannot do anything & told me take to service center & get a DOA.After this they need 12 days to replace. I told I do not need your service, Please return my money. She told I have to talk to VRITI.
* I called Noida Office & spoke to Mr Vikas (0120 4087637) & requested to return my money, as I cannot wait anymore. There are other private ISPs & I want to go to them.He very politely told that he will arrange to replace the faulty device by 31st Evening & get it activated by 01st Oct.But uptill now, I have not received any communication from anybody.

* NOW MY FEW QUESTION TO YOUR RELIANCE IS : (1) SHOULD A CUSTOMER PAY & SUFFER LIKE THIS?
(2) NO CONTACT DETAILS ARE GIVEN & NO ACCOUNTABILITY FOR PEOPLE LIKE ALBERT?
(3) WITH SUCH ADVANCEMENT IN TECHNOLOGY, SHOULD WE SUFFER LIKE THIS TALKING TO PEOPLE LIKE SHALINI.ARE THEY ARE FAVOURING US? CAN'T YOU TRAIN THEM TO BEHAVE PROPERLY WITH CUSTOMERS?
(4) NOW AS I AM FEDUP, I NEED MY MONEY BACK.CAN YOU ARRANGE? OTHERWISE I AM WRITING TO TIMES OF INDIA & LODGING A COMPLAINT WITH CONSUMER COURT.

*AWAITING YOUR CALL OR REPLY.

Poor Customer Care and Worst attitude towards problem solving
I am facing the poor speed and frequent disconnection from the 1st day. I had taken the reliance netconnect 3.1 Mbps connection. They had come up with 7000 Rs bills after 10 days and disconnect the service without prior intimation.

I am not going to pay the bills untill they will send me in written :
1. Why they had disconnected my connection without intimating me.
2. Timeline to solve the problem
3. Whey they are not providing the speed they offered.
4. Whey they will not take the device back and give my money.
5. How they are claming they are providing the 3.1 Mbps speed.
6. What is the education qualification of their employees who are sorting out the problems and trying to solve them like anything.

Validity expires before time
Hi,

I bought Reliance Net Connect for Rs.1500/- unlimited for 1 month and on 22nd day it got disconnected. Reliance Appellate Authority, Nodal Officer, Service Assurance Cell, and Customer Care are not providing any positive response.

Ravi Lohia

What is the use of setting up appellate authority, nodal officer, service assurance cell, and customer care units, when no one solve issues pending since 29-March-08, forcing me to go to consumer court.

Ravi Lohia

Hi All,

Till date I have not received any feedback regarding my claim.

Reliance Executive called me to know problem in Data Card, and as this is a non-technical issue, he can not help.

Subject: Claim V/S Customer Relationship Management

Hi,

I purchased Reliance Netconnect (No. 9324067851) USB Data Modem and unlimited internet for 1 month for INR1501.00 from Mittal Reliance Webworld, Andheri (W) on 01-Mar-08. On 02-Mar-08 I received Welcome SMS from Reliance. On 03-mar-08 I received amount received SMS from Reliance. On 22-Mar-08 night I received SMS from Reliance stating balance is only INR12.34. I called *333 and asked about it, person said ignore the message. I could not connect internet after some time, and again called *333 and person said contact Shop. I went to shop and he lodged complain and promised to solve the issue within 60 hours. As continuously I could not connect internet, I went to Reliance Shop, Near J.B. Nagar, Andheri (E) and paid fees to make it postpaid. Address Verification done, but Till 29-Mar-08 internet was not activated. Then people at Reliance Shop in Andheri (E) said Data Card Prepaid to Post Paid not possible. At last again I went to Reliance Shop at Andheri (W), he gave me solution.

Here I lost 8 days internet (from 22-Mar-08 to 31-Mar-08) and I claim refund for this amount 1500/30*8= INR400.00 plus INR200.00 for conveyance, communication for the period.

Total Claim INR600.00

Hoping for good customer relationship management.

Ravi Lohia

CLIP Charges (illegal) in Reliance NetConnect Bill and court case
Attention all Reliance NetConnect Users (Please treat this as very important):
I was an active and regular user of Reliance NetConnect (http://www.rcom.co.in/webapp/Communications/rcom/Netconnect/rm_netconnect.jsp) until October 2007 when I changed my plan to "pay as we go option". After this change, when I received my new bill in October 2007, I saw that they have added following items in the bill:
Monthly charges
Advance monthly rental charge RNJ149 18-09-2007 to 07-10-2007 116.00
Advance monthly rental charge RNJ149 08-10-2007 to 07-11-2007 174.00
Reliance netconnect subscription RCFreedom 18-09-2007 to 07-10-2007 16.67
Monthly charges - CLIP 16.67
Total monthly charges 523. 34

Firstly I send an email to the customer care that they have not notified any such advance rental by email/call/sms to me, nor they have put it in the website.
SECONDLY, MOST IMPORTANT, THEY ARE LEVYING A CLIP CHARGE OF RS `16.67 WHICH ACCORDING TO TRAI DIRECTIVE IS OPTIONAL FOR THE CUSTOMER OR FREE. RELEVANT TRAI ORDER IS ALSO ATTACHED TO THE EMAIL.
However, for the lack of time, I could not file appropriate complaints in relevant courts and last week they have sent me a legal notice. In view of this, I am REQUESTING the SUBSCRIBERS OF RELIANCE NETCONNECT TO CHECK THEIR BILL IF CLIP CHARGES ARE LEVIED EXTRA. IF YOU SEE THAT IS HAPPENING, PLEASE SEND ME AN EMAIL/CALL SO THAT WE CAN FILE A JOINT PETETION BEFORE THE COURT AGAINST THIS MALPRACTICE OF RELIANCE COMMUNICATIONS.
