Remanufactured.com Reviews

poor service
I ordered a 1987 454 mercruiser turnkey motor from remanufactured.com for $5490. When it was delivered it had automotive parts on it and they were not usable on a marine engine as well as the wrong exhaust system Remanufactured.com was fully aware that this was going into a 1987 SeaRay Cabin Cruiser to replace the 454 mercruiser that was damaged. When the engine was installed and taken out for a test drive, a leak in the oil pan was discovered, the leak is 100 drips per min. Needless to say the engine needs to be removed and gaskets replaced. We are worried that this engine was made for a car and that the rocker arms in the engine will be for a automotive engine, not a marine engine. The cost to pull the engine and repair are over $1600. We have sent a video showing the oil leak, pictures of the automotive parts, many emails and phone calls and to date we have not received an acceptable response. We are looking for remanufactured.com to reimburse us for the automotive parts that were not usable, the unusable exhaust system and the cost to repair the engine.

Defective Engine, No Warranty, No Refund
On August 27, 2007, I purchased a remanufactured engine for a 1984 Cadillac Seville from Remanufactured.com. I also purchased a 3 year 36, 000 parts and labor warranty on the engine. The cost of the engine, the warranty, core charge and shipping totaled $2375.00 It arrive almost 2 months later, after several delays. While restoring the car, my mechanic took his time, ordering new parts when possible from GM. This process continued throughout 2008. In early 2009, I started driving the vehicle short trips to break in the new engine. After only twenty-five (25) miles, the engine developed a knocking sound. I hired a second mechanic to check on the problem. One of the steel sleeves had slipped loose and a rod and bearing had broken. Basically, the engine failed. In addition to the failed engine, I never received a refund of the core charge of $300 for the old engine that I returned to remanufactured.com on 3/31/09, and they received on 4/6/09. I have made numerous attempts to contact the company by email and telephone, with no response and no satisfaction. I am now requesting a refund of my original purchase price of $2375.00, at which time, I will return the engine purchased from Remanufactured.com

Scammers
You trust them enough to give them your business and your money. Happy and looking forward to your purchase, you soon begin to question certain things that start to happen. Like, no correspondence like promised, no paperwork, no returned calls, no engine when promised, no core deposit refund and the list goes on. Well, I learned my lesson and it was a costly one just like everyone elses. I hope they all get what is coming to them.

defective engine / poor service / late delivery
I ordered a "complete" volvo penta 5.7gsi motor with fuel injection and closed water cooling. I paid $6400. I did not receive the motor for 1 year from my order date. About 11 months longer than promised. The motor is not at all what I was told it would be. No genuine Volvo parts were used and the parts were not compatible. I had to buy new exhaust risers for $800 because the ones that came with the motor didn't fit. The fuel injection system was broken when it arrived. The new fuel injection system they shipped to replace it didn't match up with the wiring harness and was not compatible with Volvo. I needed to downgrade the motor to carburetion at my own expense which included buying a new carburetor, new distributor, and new fuel pump.

All this would actually be somewhat acceptable except that the motor doesn't run. It ran for about 1 hour then started to die at 3000 rpm. Then it wouldn't go past 2, 000 rpm. Now it simply won't start. I am having my mechanic look at it but I think it will turn out to be a completely trash motor.

I tested the compression and there is a 50psi deviation between cylinders and a strange knocking sound from somewhere in the motor. I will probably need to have the motor replaced or rebuilt. I have already spent over $10, 000 and still cannot use my boat.

Can I get my money back? Can I sue and get a refund? Any help anyone?

Sincerely,

Eric Beresford-Wood

Scam
They offer remanufactures engines and engines parts but they are actually shipping used non remanufactured parts, I bought a set of heads for my boat thru their website advertisement and close the deal thru the phone with a customer service for the amount of $1544.00. I was told that for that price the item is new not remanufactured. After receiving the part it was use but I made no complain about it as long it work it was fine for me taking in consideration that I'm in Florida and they are in Indiana (1346 Miles). As soon as my mechanic install and start the engine we start to see problem with the heads having to disassemble half of the engine and inspect the heads and realize the scam. It’s used non rebuildable heads. Now their customer service are not allow to discuss the issue they just want to to send and email and wait for their answer.

No delivery
I ordered and paid for an engine on December 18, 2007 from remanufactured.com. I was told it would ship in 21-30 days. Almost half a year later, (todays date is May 28th 2008!), I have not recieved my engine. I rarely get return phone calls or return emails. When I do, I get excuses and inconsistent information and promises of near delivery. If ever I receive my engine, I have no hope that I will be able to enforce the 1 year promised warranty as they are unreachable. My next step is to call the police, Better Business Bureau and an attorney to seek treble damages for deceptive trade practices. Any help or information anyone can give me on this company is greatly appreciated.

No money/no engine
Boy, I wish I had found this website before I shipped my motor. Sent my motor and the money. Now, after four months I still have no motor and no money, even though they said it would be about three weeks turnaround. Can't talk to a live person anymore, and can't get a response.

I still like to do business the old fashioned way, but this has really been an experience. No point in chasing because it's too far away.

Crappy business, worst customer service ever!
Wow! What a crappy business. The worst customer service ever. After taking $6000 of my money they failed to deliver a Olds 455 engine as promised. Many, many, many phone calls and emails were not delivered. It was not until I threatened to call the State Troopers did the engine get shipped (10 days after they had said it was shipped and a month+ late). When the engine got here it was not complete. We had ordered a turn key engine and the engine was missing almost $1000 in parts. My mechanic finished building it on his own dime. We installed it on my boat. The engine didn't even last 30 minutes. My mechanic describes it as a "piece of junk". It lost all oil pressure and was put together wrong. Now my engine has to be uninstalled, completely rebuilt and reinstalled. The cost is about $12,000 including parts and over 50 hours labor. I am going to be suing (I am an attorney)and their Nevada Corporation is not going to help protect them. Stay away from this company for the love of God. They do not provide what they promise and they take your money up front!
