DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY. They will not pay a claim. If you look up Renewable auto care on the BBB site they have a A+ rating but if you look under Certus they have an F. I asked this question when I was considering the policy. The genetlman on the phone told me that I was buying my policy from renewable auto care and that not certus and it was a mix up with all of the car warrenty companies cropping up.. GUESS what?!?!?! You are purchasing the warrently from renewable auto care, but the actuall policy is managed by CERTUS LOOK THEM UP!!! FREAKING JOKE, I didnt notice this until the faxes started rolling through and they were coming from CERTUS!!!
I took my car in for a door actuator that was broken and not allowing the door to stay latched. According to the warrent booklet they sent (custome made for my policy) this is a covered item.
The dealer I took the car to is the same dealer I purchased the vehicle from, and have all my vehicle service done there. I do a great deal of traveling and therfor make sure that my oil is changed every 3, 000 miles, tires are rotated, multipoint inspections are done every 15, 000 miles...etc etc..
First of all, the dealer took a copy of my warrenty card at 7:00 am and called the numer. There was no live agent to speak with, so they had to enter everything in over the phone. at 2:30 in the afternoon the dealer recived a fax from renewable asking them to fill out a form with the SAME INFORMATION that was entered over the phone...dealer name, my name, dealer address, my address, VIN #, and what the repair diagnostics were on the vehicle, it also wanted to know what my oil level was at, what my transmission fluid looked like, what my tire depth and pressure was on. REALLY??? for a door actuator????? At the very bottom of the page were the words...
DO NOT BEGIN REPAIR ON THIS VEHCILE UNTIL YOU RECIEVE WRITTEN ATHORIZATION TO DO SO. That doesnt make any sense. If they cant begin work until they get authorization then why take 7 1/2 hrs to even start the process??? It took only 3/4 of an hour to replace the door actuator. So I called renewable and ask if I could have the repair done and then once the paper work was completed they could pay or if they didnt cover it I would just pay for it. I have to get the car fixed one way or another.I was told that if I authorized the repair they would not cover it. THREE DAYS after the form was faxed back to them another faxed was received asking for my service records. These were faxed the next morning. The dealer received a fax stating the claim was denied because I was 15 miles late on an oil change. Well if someone there could add/subtract they would realize that my service manual for my ford says I need to have the oil changed every 5k miles. I actually have my performed at 3k miles so at 3015 miles I had my oil changed thats not 15 miles over that is 1985 miles before needed! I called and pointed that out. They asked me to refax the documents. WHY did you throw them away already??? So I refaxed the documents, By this time my car has been at the dealer for over a week waiting approval. The dealer receives another fax saying the claim is denied because I havent had my transmission fluid checked or changed since I purchased the warrenty...BS it is checked at every oil change and It isnt time to have it changed again. I have the records for all the changes since I purcashed the car, but it hasnt been 30, 000 miles since my last transmission change. I still have about 14, 000 miles before the mainatance is required. So I call the again and explain this to them, fax a later from Ford that provides the maintance schedule for my car and prove that it isnt time for another transmission change. They say fax us all of your service records..AGAIN????? How many time do I have to perform this ritual??? I fax them again 3 hrs later the dealer gets a return fax stating that my documents are Fraud and the claim is denied! and my policy is cancelled! Fraud really???? you didnt mention that in the first six exchanges..Your calling the ford documents fraud? Needless to say I paid 250 for the initial upfront cost of the warrenty and 60 per month for 7 months thereafter only to have the claim repeatedly denied. I paid for it myself, being that I was without a car for 1 1/2 weeks and they wont approve a rental car until they approve the claim!
One week after sending the last fax telling the Ford dealer that my policy was cancelled (which in itself is stupid) why tell them, should you tell me that? They proceed to take out there monthly $60 dollars from my account! I thought my policy was cancelled why are you taking payment. So I call the bank and have the charges reversed and change my CC # guess what two months later even after sending me letters telling me that they were unable to debit my account for my payment so my policy is cancelled, they are still trying to pull money out of my account! I THINK WE CAN SEE WHO THE FRAUD IS. FEEL FREE TO EMAIL ME IF YOU WANT PROOF!
