Business has "vanished"
It seems I am in the same boat as many other people here. I purchased a 3 year protection plan for a Nikon D80. I experienced no issues with the camera; however I've recently decided to sell it. I wanted to contact repair tech in order to figure out if/how I would be able to transfer my plan. I called two service numbers, neither of which was valid. Their website is also useless - it's just a blank page. This is frustrating, as I paid for a 3 year plan, and there are still 2 years left on it that have been rendered a waste.

wont honor warranty
I am having similar problems with repair tech. They just wont communicate with me or honor my warranty. I have tried multiple times to get in touch with a representative- they have the longest hold times and even when someone does come on the line they do not want to talk about the issue. Also recently I heard that their office shut down due to which I'm not even being able to call at the number that I used to call at. I have no idea how to get ahold of a representative for my digital camera repair anymore. It was such a waste to get this extended warranty from them. I'm really repenting it now. I really wish some action could be taken against repair tech and we would get our money back for all this frustration that they have put us through.

Reneged on extended warranty
A little over 1 year ago, I purchased a SONY digital camera from Foto Connection of Brooklyn, NY. The order was for about $1, 600.00. They recommended a 5-year extended warranty by RepairTech and I purchased it for $300.00
Now, the camera malfunctioned and I tried contacting RepairTech. An answering machine message indicated that, as of June 1, 2008, all prior warranties would not be honored.
Foto Connection, who sold me the warranty, appeared aware of the problem and advised suing RepairTech in small claims court, at the same time suggesting that RepairTech was no longer in business.
Both companies appear complicit in fraud. I am angry because I was "taken".
Any advice?

Failure to Honor Warrenty
I submitted a repair claim to Repair Tech under warrenty. The repair provider is Precision Camera. In my case, Repair Tech only administers the warrenty and pays the claims. They don't actually do the work on site. So what is their incentive to pay claims? Absolutely none? What does it cost them to refuse a claim? Absolutely nothing. They still get their cut from the vendor, in this case, Broadway Photo of NY. I called and actually talked to representatives the first 6 times with no follow up or returned calls by Repair Tech. After that, they wouldn't even answer the phone. I left dozens and dozens of messages and e-mails. None-returned. This company should be shut down for failure to honor any of their advertised service. By virtue of this string, I am clearly not alone. New Jersey better business needs to take action on this company. They are corrupt.

No response to Warranty
These guys are scams. They do not respond to warranty issues. I have purchased an extended warranty for a Sony 60" TV and when you call they now give a number that is not in service.

Repair Tech won't honor warranty
I purchased a Sony A100 DSLR from Wisetronics.com. They really pushed the need for me to purchase an extended warranty for my camera. I was told that there was a local company that could service my camera if I had any issues. Well, my Sony camera started having some electronic problems. Some of the buttons would not work and the auto-focus stopped working. When I called RepairTech, they told me that I had to send my camera out of state to Precision Camera. After two weeks, my camera still had not gone into 'repair' status. I called Precision Camera and they told me that Repair Tech had not authorized and paid for the repair. Over the course of the next several weeks, Repair Tech kept telling that due to a 'glitch' in their system, the repair was not authorized, but the issue would be resolved in 2 to 3 business days. It never was resolved. I left messages for supervisors, but calls were ever returned. I complained to Precision Camera, but they said that there was nothing they could do. They said that I could pay for the repairs myself and then go after Repair Tech for reimbursement or I could PAY them a $25 refusal fee to return my camera. The whole thing reeks of scam. My camera was essentially held hostage by Precision Camera. I felt that they should have fixed my camera and they should go after Repair Tech for payment. It's a no win situation. If you ever buy an extended warranty, be sure to ask who the warranty provider is. If a company is trying to sell you a warranty serviced by Repair Tech, choose another company to buy your product from.

Extended Service Contract
I purchased a 3 year warranty on my Nikon Cool Pix 7600 Camera from Repair Tech. The company should rename themselves Rip-off Tech. The battery door clip broke (as many of them do come to find out) and I sent it to their 'authorised dealer' Precision Camera (no precision at tis company). Precision said the camera had "physical damage" which is not covered under the warranty as they say. The camera was not dropped or immersed in any fluid. The latch broke from normal wear which is suppose to be covered by the Extended Service Contract. They refuse to repair under warranty and if you call, the calls are forwarded to a voice mailbox in which no one has returned my calls (left over 15 messages). Precision Camera said the repairs would be $145 including labor and parts. I purchased a new camera for the same cost which is better than the Nikon. DON"T BUY THESE WARRANTIES. THEY ARE A RIP-OFF!!
