Scam charges
They called me several times after an internet request for information. They wanted to send me a disc concerning information on how to apply for a government grant. They would not charge for the disc, just a measly $1.95 for shipping. I refused to give them my credit card number since they do not have a call back number. I went through this whole process a second time and told them again why I am not interested. I have since then received several more calls during the week and about 15 calls this Saturday. They hung up when I asked to speak to a supervisor.
So, do not leave your phone number and/or email address to receive info. So far I have not succeeded in stopping their calls.

phone solitation for grant funding
Request a grant .com is run by the same people that are offering a lot of other (info) for grants but at this point all the information tiat i have recived is either incomplet or just not what they claim it to be this is total bull

After receiving the phone call that so many people have gotten, I went on line. I never got past the home page because of so many complaints.
THANK YOU fellow "we can NOT be scammed" artists!!!
Now is NOT the time to wave phony money offers in front of my face!!!

These people are crooks
I recently recieved a phone call on my cell phone, and it turned out to be "request a grant.com". I did look into them, as I'm sure anyone will tell you we could all use some free money. Turns out they have pages of complaints. I'm just glad I never gave them any of my info. They even claim to have a "Capital Hill" address and phone number.
Advice to all... These People ARE scam artists and preying on people like me, the poor and unemployed.

Received detailed message about being eligible for free grant money. Very smooth. Call originated from 202-683-1441, Washington, DC.
Be careful with this one. I've been called twice, and I'm on the Do Not Call list. That's obviously working well for us here in NH!

phone call
Received a phone call on my cell phone last night from the phone number 202-683-1435 urging me to respond by entering numbers on my cell regarding receiving excessive money the government is distributing in grant money...never to be repaid. Due to the financial hardship we are all incurring we went to the website today and each portion kept asking for shipping and handling fees for numerous CD information. When does the government EVER give money...never to be repaid. Certain this is another scam...

Phishing for CC Info
This is Jan. '09 and they're still at it. I received a call on my cell at about 3:30 p.m. today from phone number (202) 683-1418. Sure glad I checked on it before doing anything.

Phising
I got a phonecall from them people offer me free money. "Just visit our site..." PHISING!!! Googled it and the second result was this complaints page. I am in a good financial situation and don't need a grant...why are they calling me? I am worried about some of our country's poor and elderly who may fall victim to this scam. CROOKS!!!

someone called and offered me a grant for up to 25, 000.00 and gave me the information about Washington having 50 billion dollars to give to people who are in need and told us to hold on and they would take information, when they put me on hold it connected me with a woman in the next town who was waiting for the same thing. nothing but a scam.

FRAUD
I recieved a phone call also, I went to web site and the recording said to try to file for a grant to help me pay bills and morgage. I was not sure about this so I bought a pre paid visa card for 25 dollars. the charged it 2.95 at first, then charged the card the balance on it. Thank god I only had a 25 dollar pre paid card. This is terrable what there doing to people that are struggeling, our goverment should do something about it. They also should have a way to help us, with grants that we will pay back in payments.
