I applied to be a Mystery Shoper on Craig's List. (Someone should notify them). I got a letter from Research Union Inc. stating they wanted to give me an assignment for training purposes. Enclosed was a check for $990 made out to me. I was instructed to cash it and go to a WalMart or MoneyGram and wire $870 back to them to a fictitious name with my last name. They also enclosed paperwork to make it appear that there would be more assignments.

My intuition thought this didn't 'feel' right, so I tried to: call them; email them; look up their web site, etc. I finally googled the guy's name and found out it was a scam.

I only write this for others to check stuff out that seems 'not quite right'. Glad I did.
