Bad Behavior with associates
Employed at Dillard’s at Tri-county Mall Cincinnati, Ohio 7/7/2007 thru 10/03/2009
Working for a company with a hostile environment, from the beginning of my journey with Dillard’s Co. which non other goes by Higby Co. I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. During my time there was to be courteous to the customers, accumulated sales, and open charges which I executed to do and exceeded what I was being said. I was told that if in default my credit openings amounts would help bring my sales up. If needed. I had always made my quota, in which one year I was told I was a pacesetter, and the Company never followed thru. In my contributation to my achievement. I excelled in everything I had done, but instead of being rewarded in verbally… I was belittled. I also, had reached a point where I even saw that the environment after a period of time was effected me. There were sales people on the floor that were arguing over sales on the floor other associates stealing sales, including myself. I always seem to walk away…I was threaten by certain sales associates. While stealing sales right under me. I started to inquire for a transfer to another store, thinking that maybe it was because this particular store at the Tri-County Mall that was not running properly. So I felt I was not being heard, So I decided to take it a bit Farther. I started to go thru arbitration, thinking this way I was going to be heard. In which upon my sending the letter, 3 months later, A Ms. Zina Nasser had just taken over being District Manager. One Morin she arrived to the store and had me come up to the Office there at Tri-county store office the meeting was better then I thought. During our conversation she was very pleasant she had asked me, about the personnel there, what I had thought about some of the Managers, I was very up front and honest with her, also in the arbitration I had mentioned that the time of inventory..there were children involved in the inventory because they did not have enough personnel that could help on certain occasions of inventory. So we proceeded in the conversation, Ms. Nasser had even asked me if I wanted a assistance position, at the time I had just wanted a sales associate position was not looking into anything except just a job. I declined all went well however I did ask her if I could be transferred out of the Tri-county store was told yes, then one year later I was still there, so many things had happened to me during my continuous of my employment at the Tri-county Dillard’s . I was accused of some many wrongful doing from words put in my mouth, stealing, deformation of character…the list goes on. I continuously tried to send out letter’s to Ms Nasser with my concerns, she seemed to comply however was told protocol in which I did. I approached Mr. Clem and he kept refusing me in my request. I still continued with Ms Nasser. Finally after a couple of attempts Mr. Sheridian, set- up a interview with the Dillard’s at the Kenwood store. I was told there were openings upon my interview there at Kenwood store, upon my return to Tri0County store Mr. Sheridain proceeded to tell me there were no openings which I know I was lied to. I found it odd. Again I proceeded again, then months later Mr. Sheridain ask me to come to his office, he offered me a position in the shoe department, which this was not something we had to do just if a associate wanted we had the option to refuse….at this point concerning the rules and the policies were uncertain, because rules did not always apply to everyone things changed pending on the person involved . I felt there was a lot of non professional acts concerning the running of the Dillard store at Tri-county. With my proceeding with Mr. Sheridain conversation in the office he had told me if I could work in the lady’s shoe department for a month .
2}
In return, that I would be transferred with in month it was the holidays’ coming and the department was short staffed among many other departments that were short staffed. Mr. Sheridain upon our conversations during him asking if I could do this month in the shoe department of Dec. 2008 he personally asked me to sign a form telling me that this was my transfer form which I read and when I asked for a copy he would not give me one. There were many incidents when copies were supposed to be given to the employees, but only given certain one’s. So I proceeded, I started in the lady’s shoe department, taken the word I would eventually be removed from the store with the month. A month went by and I continued to ask inquiring about the transfer, was being ignored and refused. Months went by still no transfer, upon my refusal. I continued to proceed to call Ms. Nasser Ms. Presentenced that she was not familiar what was going on with me. So at this point doing to the fact I need the job I continued . Meantime hoping to find work that suited my skills more so….I had enjoyed working as a sales associate there at Dillard’s I like customer service it is something that comes natural for me. But my experiences there had caused time from my job sometimes, which I never hardly missed.. because of feeling betrayed, after working longs hours when no one showed up in some of the depart.’s, I remember a certain incident when the weather got so bad they had a snow alert only 5 associates showed up. I was one of them found myself working in every department. There were occasions when I worked from 8am to 9:15pm because the store did not have enough people I always offered myself. I was never paid over time on some occasions…What I feel after my wrongful dismissal from Dillard’s I feel that I knew to much, and I was very concern about my transfer. My arbitration was not full-filled I wanted to continue but I had lost all hope of continuing with Dillard’s it did effect my performance after a while many times I would continue on my sales and credit openings which I excelled.
I feel like I was never fully paid, there were over time, and credit which should have been paid at $6 per credit and that never came to pass, if the customer up graded which in numerous accounts. Also to notified that some of the manager’s could reverse certain sales to other associates, in which I saw myself, showin that the other associate had many returns. I recall during my last week something did not feel right I even excelled in my sales and oddly enough my returns were very high .
