On Thursday, May 6 2010, I went to plug in my hair straightener and turn it on. The straightener was in hand when I went to turn it on and from the bottom of the appliance, a large blue spark came out along with a shiny, soot-like powder and hit my hand. I went to the emergency room as the side of my right hand was burning. The ER staff let me know that I had minor 2nd degree burns to my hand and after an EKG, the rest of my vitals were fine.
I have a copy of the emergency room papers as well as the broken product in my possession.
