These people offer loan modification programs. They enlist the aid of a notary to print and deliver documents that do not need to be notarized and request a check to be picked up and returned. They offer $65.00 to do so.
I performed this service for them on February 17th (it is April 14th). The client declined participating in their program. After resubmitting my invoice four times, the owner says I shall only get $20.00 as a trip charge. When I complained that I have no control over the clients' participation and that I did as requested and therefore should receive full compensation, the offer of $20.00 was withdrawn. I then had to request of Rezn8 Financial Systems the $20.00 as a payment in compromise, versus sending to collections. I still have not received payment.
My original contact is no longer with Rezn8 (kind of a cheesy personalized license plate) Financial Systems. I then communicated with James Jimmerson and finally Kelli Nielsen (510-226-1902) in accounts payable. Her response was that since no documents were notarized, and according to my professional ethics as a notary, I should not bill for services.
Their confirmation request disclosed nothing about partial payment. I have since received other requests for similar appointments and those companies have disclosed only partial payment should the client not participate. I have refused those errands as it is inappropriate to hold a notary responsible for the clients' decisions.
