Webhosting scam
Not sure if you guys ever heard of this site but I've got screwed over by them pretty bad. This site sells eBay unlimited reseller hosting account packages. Do not get fooled by their powerseller 99.6% status on eBay.
I bought a 1 Year Unlimited hosting package for an yearly fee of $34.99 September of last year from them and started selling hosting accounts using the package. Six months into the deal, I've sold over 100+ hosting accounts to 100+ ebayers.
Just couple of days ago, I've received email from them out of no where threatening me to pay 20 euros extra per month if I wanted to keep the accounts in place. They said I was selling excessively and that if I didn't agree to pay or limit the number of hosting accounts to 50 within 48 hours, they were going to delete my entire account.
I responded reminding them that the package I've bought back in September clearly stated UNLIMITED and no where did the listing ever mentioned that extra fees were required. As far as I know, it was an yearly type of subscription. If you check out their $34.99 listings, it clearly states UNLIMITED.
I've always followed their tos and never violated any of their policy. In the end, they tried to force me to pay extra monthly fees and deleted all of my accounts. Now being stuck in the middle between the major Scammer of all time (RHSERVE.com) and 100+ eBayers who've purchased the hosting from me.
Rhserve knew I would be helpless in this situation because I've already left him positive feedback and I'm basically locked in with 100+ users hosted with me. Not to mention that once he deletes the account, people will only go after me instead of him since I was the one selling the hosting accounts from my reseller account. Honest to God, I've never done anything to deserve this.
I have a strong feeling that he does this to his hosting customers. He lures you in with a sweet deal, then traps you. Behind all those naive positive feedbacks on his eBay account left by people like me, all I see is another scum bag thinking that he can roam free on the internet after scamming individuals like me. Little did he know, he has more than just me to worry about 'cus there are over 100+ eBayers who are also suffering from his scam.
Personally, I wanted to very much save the accounts that were in jeopardy, but my only concern was if I did give in on his threat, he can still easily change his mind and charge me even more in the future. It wasn't even anywhere near 48 hours and he just went ahead and deleted all of the accounts.
I wanted to share this with you guys because I feel that it is important to learn from people's mistakes in order to be able to help make this world a better place. If any of you guys have any suggestions on what actions I should take to resolve this issue and put away this scammer for good legally, then I am all ears!
