My dispute is $77.00 for Optometrist Services provided on 2/3/2011 from Richard G. Alexander, Optometrist, (Tax Id: 02-0532850) Schaumburg, Illinois. He gave me an eye examination and put (2) RX Lens with standard antiglare and transitions lens into a pair of eyeglass frames I provided. The total cost I paid for the examination and services was $390.00. As a member of Humana Insurance, the vision coverage is a discount program with Eye Med Vision Care. The discount is 20% off the Retail price on lens options and $5.00 off eye examinations. For in network doctors and Dr. Richard G. Alexander is an in network doctor, he refused to apply the 20% discount and told me to submit the bill to my insurance. I paid a total of $390 and immediately contacted Eye Med Vision Care.
In a recorded conversation, an Eye Med representative confirmed my eligible 20% discount. He was requested to apply the 20% discount and refund of $77.00. He became adversarial with the representative and was immediately directed to the Eye Med Vision Care website and requested to print the Eye Med Vision Care Discount Plan to assist him in calculating the refund due. This Eye Med Discount Program is not insurance but a discount vision plan under Humana Insurance, this presents a challenge in recouping my money. Bottom line, Dr. Richard G. Alexander refuses any refund, even after I was promised a refund from his secretary. In most recent phone conversation he welcomed the challenge to dispute any refund with my banking intuition and that instead this refund will be deducted off a remaining balance on a pair of glasses he made for my husband. In my last attempt to resolve this issue, he became very unprofessional and yelled that by law our marriage holds me responsible for an outstanding balance on a family member.
I have tried to resolve this $77 dispute with Dr. Richard G. Alexander without any success. The resolution to this compliant for dissatisfied services is my $77 refund. I also request this compliant be recorded and filed on Richard G. Alexander (Tax Id: 02-0532850.)
