BEWARE of THIS BUILDER!
This is just one of the many homeowner complaints that I sent to this sleezy builder. First of all, you should have seen my house during the walk-through. I brought many, many complaints of defects/imperfections to the original Superintendent regarding my brand new home. My outside areas (lawn) looked a hot mess. the sod was very poorly laid. It (lawn) had big tractor marks all over. My walls in family room/upstairs and hallway were very wavy. (drywallers did a crapy job), We also found out that we had a framing problem, They framers) had to pull my wall over in a few rooms.:-(. The Masonary Contractors was unreal in the way they completed the front steps/rear wide well exit(cement is peeling apart) the cement contractors used alot of chipped/cracked brick to build my front. It was really cold out there because if you look at the job. you can tell why! We have had nothing but problem after problem with the Heating and A/C Units since day One... Also the plumber after completion of our brand new bathroom installed a faulty peice of pipe, well it was leaking since day one until it busted eight months later. My house was sinking for months and months until I, finally open my clost door. All you saw was water/mold and mildew damage. Again Richmond American tried to take the easy way out by NOT informing me that when you replace any area of carpet, the die-lot will not be the same. Well they finally agreed to replace the entire carpet through-out basement. Then catch this...eight months later, the pipe broke again in the same exact location. This was indeed a lot to absorb having been in the new home for just a year and half. We (homeowners) realy utilizes our bathroom area. I tell you this plumber needs to hire most qualified technicians to do the job right. ok. At this point, my home still has that strong mildew/musty odor coming the the basement closet/tub areas. In closing, My basement area that was damaged recently( job) is still not completed. It's been about seven weeks. The bottom line is, beware of this company simply because, once they get your money; You're basically on your own. If you do decide to purchase a home, walk every inch of the space. I think that if they have better managerial over-sight over the contractors/sub-contractors they would NOT have alot of homeowner complaints/problems or lawsuits. Had Weread the cusomer complaint about this company in advance, we would NOT have purchased this (lemon) home. The money we paid for this home was not worth it.
The unhappy new homeowners,
