I called Ridge Transmissions (RT) and asked if the service advertised was to flush the fluid in my car, manager said yes. Was shown how black my fluid was, the grit in the pan, and metal shavings. They said my 6 year old Toyota needed a transmission overhaul for $1, 500.! I had flushed my fluid once before (another place), kept up on services. One week later, I took it to a shop for the oil change, check up. They actually showed me the fluid and it was very dark instead of red and clear. RT had only changed 2 pints, said 4 pints, and did not flush it, no metal shavings, no problems with the trans. Shop had to flush it correctly using 13 pints. Grit typical of Toyotas. RT refused refund. RT did not use a flashlight on the fluid to show the shiny metal shavings as there were none. RT stated all the fluid cannot be changed, yet the shop did. My car was not making noise or showing any problems with the transmission. BBB shows other complaints of RT scamming.
