Selling defective phones
I received a Blackberry Bold through my company. One year warranty. The speaker failed after 5 months. I learned it's a defect in the Bold. AT&T offered to send me a new Bold, but only with a 90 day warranty. They acknowledged there is a defect in the phone. I suppose this is why they reduced the warranty period to 90 days. I told them to explain to me why they would send me a new Bold knowing the speaker will fail in 4-6 months. They said that's all they can do unless I upgrade to a 9700. If I do that, they'll only charge me $199. They're offering the phone to new subscribers for $49.
Their actions here are criminal. I've filed a complaint with the FCC and my Congressman.
It seems AT&T can take advantage of consumers because no one has gone through the proper channels to hold them accountable. I will dog them for as long as it takes to find justice. I may not cancel my account at the end of the month, just so I can continue to document their fraudulent behavior. If you want justice, organize and file complaints with the FCC. Don't just vent here.

Rebate processing
When I purchased my blackberry bold phone a rebate form was filled out for me. I was overwhelmed with paperwork since I was a new AT&T customer and was not explained to me what exactly I need to do. I contacted the AT&T rebate customer service hotline and they stated that I needed to submit the rebate to another address then the one listed on the form because the rebate had expired. I explained to the customer service agent that I wasn't explained on what I needed to do exactly. They assured me that once my rebate was received at the alternate address, my rebate would be processed. Two months later nothing. I contacted AT&T rebate customer service center and a customer service agent named "Denise" was not pleasant to speak to. She insisted that my rebate had expired and nothing could be done. I mentioned to her about my pervious conversation with an AT&T representative told me and she did not care. I proceed to ask to speak to a supervisor and I was placed on hold for 25 minutes and was never transferred. I am very disappointed in AT&T and would not purchase any other products from them. Buyer be ware. I made copies of my rebate form, receipt and bar code box and she didn’t even ask for it. I can't wait till my contract expires and move to another carrier.
