I found a Chimney Sweep company in the yellow pages and decided to use them for estimates to check my home fireplace and the fireplace at a piece of rental property for damages. The rental property was up for sale and needed to have the chimney cap in order to pass inspection. My home inspection costed $95.00 and the rental was $85.00 for the inspection and $85.00 for the chimney cap. I paid them for both inspections and the Chimney cap, which was a total of $265.00. I was told the cap had to be ordered and would be available in three (3) days. They alleged that it would be installed at the time of arrival ... they lied again and the cap did not get installed. Today is the 13th of March and I'm still waiting. I've called them several times and I'm either promised it will be done, or they just don't answer the phone.
The last time I called them (3-13-07) they didn't answer the phone. I left a message and asked them to please refund my money. As of this writing, I have heard nothing and will be contacting the Better Business Bureau. I will also be contacting our local TV crusaders "Problem Solvers."
