I hired Rob Hicks around the middle of June 2010 to perform some major renovation work on my recently purchased townhome in Pensacola. Mr Hicks had 2 other individuals working with him but the service is owned and operated my Robert Hicks. I hired Mr. Hicks on the advice of one of my coworkers and made the mistake of basing this deal on a handshake-big mistake. Mr. Hicks had several weeks before we moved in to work but the work had to continue after we moved in. This worked dragged on for another 2 months with weeks going by and no work being performed. Mr. Hicks had one excuse after another and I continued to pay him weekly until $7000 had been exchanged. After several weeks of no completion and obvious quality issues I fired Rob Hicks and told him to pick his few remaing items up. I then hired another licensed contractor to clean up Mr. Hick's mess. The new contractor was amazed at the shoddy workmanship and had to redo much of the work to make it right. I made several mistakes:
1-Trusting the word of a coworker
2.- Paying before the work was completed
3.- Not drawing up a contract
Beware of doing business with this individual. He will not do what he says.
