I would like to make others aware of a project taking place in Granbury, TX. I have had personal dealings with Robert Stapleton, and I assure you that he is not what he wants people to believe he is. Please do not give your money, time, or material to this scoundrel. If you have been victimized by Robert Stapleton help us warn others by adding to this post. Below are some additional posting that I located on two different websites.

Robert is by no means what people think at first. I have knowledge that he has not paid several people and is not to be trusted. He does not live up to his promises. He will gladly take your money and sponserships and use them for his own personal gains. He is not getting much money from Granbury Texas now because he is known for his bad reputation. The Veteran Falls would not have taken this long to be built if Robert had not let his ego get in the way and had not been so greedy. The vets are the ones that will be left out yet again.

Veteran Falls

Do not give money to this project! Robert Stapleton is a con artist that steals from people with a big heart. Do a little research and you will find out for yourself. That project was only to be a television show that would make him famous. After using and abusing his sponsors, he ran out of money, (using most of it for his own high standard of living). The only way to complete the job before being sued by the developers was to get people to “donate” money to him. The guy is a fake and a fraud. I personally think he is the devil in the flesh. It makes me sick to see someone take advantage of nice people with big hearts. The Fort Worth Star Telegram is currently writing a retraction to the free advertising article they wrote after receiving several emails from past victoms. Please research before helping this evil man!

I completely agree with the previous post. Robert Stapleton is a snake in the grass who prays on anyone or anything that either gets him money or attention. He cares more about money than anything else. He is a skilled and master manipulator who for years has claimed he was in the process of creating a show, The Robert Stapleton Show, about building Natural Waterfalls, for the purpose of enticing people to do and contribute free work/materials. He cons people into believing that he will give them exposure and advertising time on his show in exchange for the work and money that they do and give him. Unfortunately for the poor vendors, they end up doing all of the work and Stapleton pockets all of the profits. Since many people are now onto his scheme, he has now changed his pitch a little to he is filiming “pilot shows.” Scheme is still the same. He has no show! Besides, he is a complete raving lunatic that no one would ever want to work with. He craves to be in front of the camera and in front of an audience. He figured out that people love to be on TV, and he promises them that he will put them on his show and give them a discount on the price of his expensive work if they agree to allow them to “film” the unvieling. He also figures that the more exposure that he gets, the more credibility and dollars it brings him. The fact is that he DOES NOT HAVE A TV SHOW and only uses this as a marketing ploy. He has wormed his way in with a few small town public access channels (for free) to advertise with the same empty promisies of exposure for them “in the future.” The future has amounted to many years now.
Stapelton is originally from Colorado, where he filed bankrupcy and allegedly left a lot of people high and dry. He focuses his marketing efforts in wealthy, smaller cities. He talks like he is a Christian so that people let their guard down and trust in him. This way he is able to get in front of church groups to give presentations with the same BS about wanting to help people, blah, blah, blah. It is all hot air!
This project started out as being a waterfall project in the front of an upcoming neighborhood. Ken Hacket of Granbury hired Stapelton to do the project for 100K. Stapelton ran the same BS about how he would get tremendous exposure, and create a unique place for the homeowners. He told him he would give him over 250K of work for 100K paid up front (he always requires payment up front) if he would allow him to unviel the project on one of his non-exisistant TV shows plus have a huge unvieling party that the whole town and out of towners would attend. Ken paid him some money down and it was to be completed in several weeks (over a year ago). He had sales people in Grandbury soliciting businesses for the project using the same line in order to minimize His expenses and maximize profits. He offered to pay the sales people 25% of the money they collected from sponsors. He would keep the remaining 75%. He also promised to pay them for sponsors that they recruited based upon what the gave. He never paid them. He also created a school in which people would pay him to attend while they did “onsite training” at the project! What a hoot. These people were paying him thousands to work for free! What a smooth & fast talker. After running out of funds he created a new angle that would give him lots of publicity and more money. He sold Ken on the idea and how huge this would be and all of the exposure, blah, blah, blah. Ken is a good man and truly supports our troops. From that time forward he has milked this for every dime possible. He is a self promoter who craves the limelight and credibility. He called Fox News, he called Country Reporter. He moves from small town to small town. Another preferred marketing scheme he uses; going to land owners pretending that he is interested in purchasing land. Before they know it he is selling them on how their land would be so much more valuable and attractive if only they had one of his natural looking waterfalls on the property. Sound familiar Ken? All the while he is talking about what a God fearing Christian he is. This is to gain trust and lower their fear when he ask for payment up front. This man has victimized his employees by lying to them and having them do work with no payment, with broken promises and no payments to his ex business partner (Justin), and many others all in the name of fattening his pockets. My suggestion is to NOT GIVE HIM A DIME. I pray that more people will expose him for the true snake that he is. He is not what he pretends to be. BEWARE!!
