I paid $1000 for a Serta Perfect Sleeper Whittingham and notice the very first night, we both sank and found ourselves in a canyon in the middle. We had to grab the sides and pull ourselves out !. I called the store and they stalled us for several days with stories of how the bed just had to get used to us. The problem worsened and they refused to take the bed back and offered us a different brand or another Whittingham for a "$300 service charge". My G/F wound up in the hospital with back pain from sleeping in the sink hole in the middle of the Serta Perfect Sleeper Whittingham.
They did come and look at the bed and measured it without anyone on it, naturally it passed their visual unsprung weight test. Customer service via the 800 number was of little help, one person actually said "You picked it so its your fault"
I started to read about Rockaway and found that they were sued by the state of NJ for fraud:
