We bought a brand new pair of Romeos, loafer shoes and they got a little wet. We live in Washington state and 99% of the Loggers, Hunters and Sportsmen wear these shoes on a daily basis! Well we noticed after my Husbands shoes got wet they reeked! They smelled like something Urinated all over them, they were so strong we had to put them outside. We tried to get the smell out, nothing worked. We even put scent blocker the hunters use to cover up their human scent onto the shoes and they still stunk. These were less then 2 months old when this took place. They should have been returned the first week because a big chunk out of the front of the rubber sole chipped away, but we let that go. The smell, that was just too much to ignore, the shoes were un wearable.
We contacted the local logging supply store they were purchased at in Longview Washington, but they did not stand by them. They said the scent killer we put on the shoes was the reason they smelled. Then they said it was because we placed them on a stool a few feet in font of a heater is why they smelled. They shipped them off to the Rocky Brand Georgia Boot Co. and they gave us the same two reasons why they smelled. I think it is B.S. that such a large company does not stand by their products. We alone buy numerous Georgia Boot items every year, cork boot's, Romeo's, etc. Never had any problems, they have lost our Business and our Family's as well. I think it was poor Business to easily turn the blame to us. I have bought these specific shoes for my family for over 15 years, never ever having a single problem, now this and they tell you "Too Bad". I will let everyone I know, know about this and we stand by each other in our close knit community. I can Guarantee that they will never buy another pair of shoes from this company!
