I bought a radar detector/scrambler, on line, and paid an extra $39.95 for a fourth year repair warrantee.
I sent the unit back twice during the first three years, for the same problem (failure of the audio alert)...It broke again, so I sent it back within the four year time limit, and was told that they didn't sell me the extended warranty, and that their dealer who did sell that extra warrantee was out of business...So Rocky Mountain Radar called me to tell me that they would not repair the unit unless I sent $63.00 to cover the cost, plus ten dollars to return it...It only cost me $4.00 to send it to them, so they are even making money in the return postage scam...anyway, I don't think this is good service on a product that cost over $300.00, and failed three times in 4 years, so I advise people not to buy anything from Rocky Mountain Radar, even though it does seem to be somewhat effective at reducing traffic radar effectivness...(doesn't work at all against California Highway Patrol radar, though) ...Just another American Company that doesn't have a clue about customer relations...
