I purchased three tickets for the Feburary 2010 NASCAR race in Fontana Calif. I bought the tickets directly from NASCAR in Florida. They suggested that I buy the Mondial Assistance insurance in the event there was a serious reason why we could not attend the race. Two days before the race my wife went to the local hospital and was diagnosed with pnemonia. I filed a claim for the refund of one of the three tickets with Mondial. Finally after two months of not hearing anything about the refund I called. They claim that in march they sent a letter asking for more information. I never received a letter. I sincerely believe this insurance company is committing illegal acts by not following up on claims submitted.
If the customer never asks then they simply keep the money. I recommend that any NASCAR or other event ticket purchaser do not buy their insurance. They will play the "shell game" until you give up trying to get your refund.
