Scam and cheating
Room Source will not honor our $200 gift certificate now that they have filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy (liquidation). Anyone else have this problem. Any ideas for getting around it. I've already sent claim form to bankruptcy court but will probably not receive anything from that. Suggestions for getting my $200 in merchandise that has already been paid for?

kitchen table set
My wife and I purchased a kitchen table set from the Room Source in Rancho Cordova, CA in July 2007. In November, we noticed the clear coat on the simulated wood finish was starting to peel off. After two of their "customer service" contractors came and viewed the table, The Room Source told us the damage to the table was due to "customer abuse". My wife and I are the only two people who use the table. We use place mats when we dine on this table. We have never set hot items on the table. We tried to explain that the table was cheaply made. We were finally told in a letter in April that they would not give us a refund or issue us store credit. The customer service is terrible at this company. Luckily, there are plenty of choice for furniture retailers in the Sacramento area. I have purchased items at Lazy Boy, Naturewood and Ethan Allen without any problems. We will never go to the Room Source again. I hope this assists anyone who is thinking of buying anything at the Room Source. A word of advice: don't.

Horrible experience!
I recently purchased a living room set from the Room Source in Rocklin, CA. The salesman first miss quoted my purchase by $400 then $200 and finally I received no money off. Then the delivery of my furniture was delayed because the delivery part of the company could not communicate with me at all. Finally when I received my furniture they delivered the wrong sectional and we are missing an end table. When I tried to rectify the situation they said they are sorry our salesman wrote the wrong numbers down and the sectional I purchased will not be in until Jan. Even though I have gotten rid of my old sofa and I made no mistakes on my side they will not allow me to keep the sectional until the right one comes in or give me any kind of discount on the right one even though they screwed up. I am frustrated that this store cares so little about their customers and is not willing to make it right. I have to return all the furniture and have an empty room for my Christmas party in two weeks.
