Damaged freight - delayed delivery
Where should I start. I purchased a new twin bed with trundle and 8 drawer dresser with mirror for my 13 yr old at RTG Kids. The I purchased a dresser, 2 night stands and a mirror for MY room in the Adult section. First of all they charged me 2 different delivery charges because "they are 2 different stores under one roof". $170.00 total and I was told they had to do that because they would have to be delivered on separate trucks. (Mind you I paid for express delivery so I could get it on Monday) Well... they came on 1 truck. Fine. I'm still hashing that one out. I get home that evening and inspect the furniture and it has HUGE dents, gouges, scratches, some greasy marks that can't wipe off etc. I called the next day to complain. (I didn't pay for scratch and dent so I don't EXPECT scratch and dent). They tell me they can come and exchange the stuff but won't be able to make the delivery until Aug 26 between 3PM and 7PM. They called to confirm around 4PM saying that they were delayed a little bit and would be there around 6:30 to 7:30PM. I never heard a thing from them so around 9:30 I got my daughter to be and went to bed myself. To my shock and amazement I am awakened by a phone call at 10:45PM and it's the delivery driver telling me he's out front. Mind you I have to be up at 5AM to get myself and my daughter ready for school and work (much like MOST normal working class families) so I told him to take the furniture and drive it up his rear or back to the warehouse it was his choice.

Well... I call the 800-766-6786 number today to complain, YET AGAIN and was told the NEXT nearest available delivery would not be until Sept 6. I argued a little about that and they finally were able to give me a delivery appointment of Sept 2. When I asked what they were going to do about compensating me for the time I've had to miss work making the appointments I was told they would not refund the delivery charges until I received my replacement furniture and was "satisfied with the purchase". Again... remember... I paid 2 delivery charges when all the pieces arrived on 1 truck. I am appalled by the HORRIBLE service I have gotten from Rooms to go!

Poor Quality and Service
We ordered a love seat, couch and bedroom furniture from Rooms To Go back in JUNE of this year. We have had 4 deliveries total and still not satisfied!

1st delivery: couch, loveseat, dresser and 1 end table were delivered with satisfaction
the 2nd end table was cracked on the corner and the top of the armoire was split on 1 side with the back panel popped out. The delivery guys were amazed that these items were put on the truck.

2nd delivery: 1 end table delivered satisfactory and again the armoire was broken in numerous places. The delivery guys questioned if the piece was pulled from their "DAMAGED WAREHOUSE"

3rd delivery: one again, the armoire was busted in several locations with screws sticking out. By now, we have now bypassed customer support and are working directly with Richard Whitehead the store manager. He promised that the next delivery will be fine. That each piece will be wrapped and inspected before delivery.

4th delivery: not surprisingly, the fourth piece was damaged again! Customer service called us immediately after then delivery guys left. They said they are not allowed to deliver this piece again...4 is the limit. So now it's our fault!!!
They would be more than happy to send out someone to REPAIR the piece we have. So why in the world would we want to pay for a piece that is DAMAGED!!!

This is still unresolved but I will tell you I will never purchase from them again. The quality is AWFUL. I question if the pieces on the floor are real wood and the pieces received are Particle Board!

Horribly delivery time, no stock availability
Geez. Don't ever buy from these people by visiting the showroom floor, it is a waste of time. They have NONE of their products in stock, we looked at multiple items and asked "how soon can we get this?" and everything was 6 to 8 weeks out. It has been 8 weeks since I ordered the furniture, and today I received a call that my delivery is still 2 weeks away! And the delivery time-frame is between 7am and 10pm. So, I basically have to burn an entire day waiting for their product to arrive.

They should change their name to Rooms to Wait-for.

Delivery
I Bought a bunk bed for my son in mid June of 2008. I was told that it woulf be back ordered until July 30th (no problem) I gave the sales person my change of phone number since they had an incorrect one, paid cash and was on my way to run errands. July 29, no call. So I called them, they had the wrong # and never even tried my cel phone. Bed would be delivered on the 30th between 12-4. 11:00 am they call and say the driver was in an accident and it would be between 4-10pm. 10 pm!!! are you kidding me?? ok no problem. well when they called at 8:30 that night and said it wouldn't be until tomorrow I was not happy. I called very upset and demanded my delivery fee be refunded. no one could do anything for me. Finally got a manager at the store on the phone who agreed to refund the delivery charge, but only after I had the bed in my possesion. That's when the stories started to change, it wasn't an accident the truck broke down. Then it was becausethe driver never showed up for work. Well I agreed to the next day delivery and felt that those of use who were being put off should be the first stops that day. Well, 10am and no call. So I called and was told by the store manager that my time was between 12-4 and I was to be be the first delivery. 4:30, no call or bed. Called manager again. He said they would be calling me with in the hour, delivery driver had some problems. At this point I was so ticked off I couldn't see straight. I asked for my money back and I didn't want the bed at all. The manager agreed So I went dpown to the strore to get it in writing. That's when he told me the driver decied to do the delivery list backwards and that's how I ended up last. HUH???? These guys don't work for you? You don't tell them which deliveries need to be first? especially since you have a disgruntled customer? I had taken two days off work unpaid for this crap. Who is in charge? I have now ordered the bed from a different company, (it has already been shipped, will call me to deliver at a time easy for me even if it has to be a weekend FREE SHIPPING ) I'll have to put the bed togehter myself now, but who cares, it's not like they have devlivery guys that can even find thier way out of a paper bag. I hate rooms to go and I have no idea whay anyone would buy from them. Half the time you don't get what you order (it took 4 devilery days and three months to get my dinning set right) and the damn "dispatch" people act like they are giving you thier first born child when you simply ask them to DO THIER JOBS!!!

Delivery
I ordered my bedroom suite on Sunday 7/20. I was told it would be delivered on Tuesday, delivery came and dresser was damaged. I was told that "MAYBE" they could get back out on Saturday, this was unacceptable since I paid for "EXPRESS" delivery, and I was not going to wait several more days for my dresser, I have clothes sitting in laundry baskets. The customer service department was rude, neither customer service manger returned my phone call, nor did the store manager. When I was told by the Sales Rep who's actual sales strategy was promoting their "FAST DELIVERY" that the earliest would be "FRIDAY OF THIS WEEK OR WEDNESDAY OF NEXT WEEK" I told him that I wanted a refund for my delivery fee, he said that the manager would only give me $50. That is not acceptable; since they didn't deliver like they should have they should return the fee of $120 that they charged me, not just $50.

Manager doesn’t know the products
I went to Rooms to Go and pay a deposit for a sectional sofa. I asked the sales manager ESPECIFICALLY if it can be done instead of right handed left handed, and he told me that of course it can be done.

When I went to pay the rest and ask for a change of side, instead of Left handed Right handed, the sales manager said it can not be done.

I tried to spoke to the manager and explain that was not my fault and I want my money back.

The manager of the store which I believe should have some power, could not do anything, and more than that he said he doesn’t believe that his employee would say something like that.

The only thing that he could do is to tell me that I can not receive the refund on my money.

The name of the manager is Moritz Bemstain.

The store was in Pembroke Pines Florida on Pines Blvd.

I believe that the personnel should be trained to tell the truth, and if they don’t know how and what to sell don’t sell it, or ask somebody that knows.

I think that the manager could at least refund my money back, otherwise he is the store manager for what to say he can’t do anything?

And last I think that Rooms to Go, don’t know how to treat their customers, and more than that how to try and keep them.

Fraud
The sofa that I bought from RTG for $1144.00 is junk. I complained in the first 48 hours. They brought a second sofa in worse shape weeks later, took the cushions off it, put it on the first one, and left. The technician that came out documented the problem and said if it got worse to report it. It got worse. THE CHEAP FOAM COMPRESSES TO LESS THAN 1/2 IT'S THICKNESS WHEN YOU SIT ON IT, AND THE SPRINGS COLLAPSE. YOU LITERALLY ARE SITTING ON A THIN PIECE OF FOAM ON TOP OF BROKEN CUSHIONS. This is their Patrizzio sofa, one of their best leather ones. It felt firm and supportive in the store. It is junk in less than 4 months, and is torture to sit on. The tech was sent out again, despite corporate insisting there is no warranty. The tech tells me he reported the problem. The corporate report from the tech reads "customer preference issue" "meets manufacturer's specs". The tech claims he did not write that. The store manager calls the tech a liar (Buford store in GA). Store demands a new tech to support my claims comes out. They schedule for July 3rd and are a no show. Corporate notes say they notified me that no tech could come out to my area until after July 7. Now they say not until July 17th, and a senior tech must come out. I am asking what the point is if they changed the notes of the first tech! Obviously this is fraud and harassment to document there is no problem and/or no warranty. I now am paying for a $1144 sofa that we cannot sit on without sinking down into the springs!

No good
Bought sectional sofa. Delivery guys unwrapped it then carried it up 4 flights of stairs. Both sections were damaged. Got 1 replaced, when technician was out he noticed the second one had a hole in it. They replaced 2nd one with a display model - filthy cushions and mis-colored. Delivery guys threatened to damage it before delivering as they should only deliver to 3rd floor and did 4th floor to be nice. Then when called to complain they said they could give a minimal discount but that would void warranty. Offered a re-selection but that is no good as the delivery guys will not deliver to us as we are on 4th floor.

Sold me a mattress with bed bugs in it
Rooms to go sold me a mattress with bed bugs in it. When I called to complain about it, I was told that all mattress have bed bugs in it with the exception of foam mattress and I told the supervisor to put it in writing. But of course that was not about to happen. I bought the entire bed room set from them and they won't come and get this nasty mattress. I am forced to pay someone to remove this mattress and now sell the bed room set that I bought from them. I am groused out.

Not where you want to go
My family and I live in Garner, NC (20min. south of Raleigh) and purchased a 7pc dinette and w/ a request of an Express Delivery prior to the 4th of July weekend, we were expecting company. When it was delivered on the 2nd not only was the glass backing to the hutch shattered, the dinette table had a some discoloration, we received the wrong chairs and the one's we received were not stable! I called back to the showrm. for nearly 1/2hr. straight w/ no-one answer! It's just another example of "Take the Money and Run!!!"
