Theft!
My pocketbook was stolen out of my shoping cart in the store while I was shopping. I was then told later that it was found but it was put into a basket in the back of the store. But they told me they could'nt see who stole it but they did see me on the store surveilance. I think it was an inside job because the police also did'nt look at the tape. THe store is the one who called me and told me they found my pocketbook. I had to get new credit cards social security card and the whole nine!

Customer Service (???)
I cannot believe what I had to experience at Ross in Oakland Park, FL today, July 26 2008, around 10:50am, where I wanted to return two shirts.
I stood in line of the second cash register (ELAINE's), as nobody else stood in line there yet. Then the girl next to her, ANDREA, told me I had to stand in line behind her register. (OT: "This is not a line!!" - very rude tone in her voice) Two(!!)ladies in the meantime got in front of me (I was there first!) so i went over to the other cash registers as there were less people.
After about 5min(!) ANDREA told me in a very rude way (she almost yelled- in front of all customers!) I could not return my clothes there and had to stand in hers and ELAINE's lane.
Both ANDREA and her collegue ELAINE laughed/ grinned!! They made me spend 15 extra minutes at this store-
unbelieveably rude, no customer service!
I hope the store manager will teach these girls how to treat customers. (ANDREA was unbelievably rude, ELAINE was more modest- she "just" grinned...)
I will definately never enter this store again and expect an apology for what has happened.
Who do these girls, especially ANDREA, think they are? I do not expect to be treated like a special customer, but I expect to be treated with respect. They could have told me right away where to stand in line plus let me in front of these women as they came AFTER I entered the store and waited in the "wrong" lane! (Is there a wrong lane for the cashregister?? I do not think so!!!) They obviously did that on purpose.
Never in my life I had to experience anything like that.

terrible costumer service
I have just recently been to the downtown Seattle Ross. I understand that bussiness was busy, but bussiness should not effect costumer service. I have had some poor costumer service before, this was a whole other story. Not only was this store in disarray, it was the slowest check out I have ever been in. Though that is understandable for Ross because they are known for their mess, but I believe that every station should be equiped with all that it needs to properly service any and all costumers. I am from out of state, montana, and I do not have to pay taxes on items such as clothing in the state of Washington because I have already paid my taxes in my pay check. The particular check-out I went to did not have the necessary formalities to do a transaction for me. The person serving me was the store manager and said that I would either have to wait in a different line that would take another hour to get through for me to not have to pay extra taxes on my money. She said that she could not take the time to walk the 5 feet to the other register to obtain the necessary paperwork to do my transaction because she had a line to take care of. That is understandable minus the fact that I was in her line and I should receive the same consideration as all other costumers. I do not know how such a rude person has been appointed to a manager and if that is considered manager material I would be terrified to see what the other workers act like. Apparently the concept of costumer service is inept to the people of the downtown seattle Ross.

W2
I am very angry and disappointed at Ross Inc. from management with their lame excuses to payroll all the way to the corporate office. I want everyone to know how much this company lacks compassion for prior associates not receiving their W2. I have reached only answering machines and have had no responses thru email about my situation. They want 10 dollars from everyone that hasnt recieved a W2 and claim that because we did not recieve one that we need a reprint. How is that possible when I have not received a copy in the first place? They want us to pay for their mistakes and poor bussiness handlings. Every other company has their W2's available online for their past and present employees. Free and easy to access how hard is that for them to do for us? Here it is about to be March and still no W2 or information on what happened to mine. I just want my W2 so I can be done with this company.. If someone can please tell me how they were able to recieve theirs I will be forever grateful to you..

Scam and fraud!
I love Ross clothes and prices but everytime I go to Ross there are always long lines at the registers. Most of the cashiers are not very friendly or apologetic for the long wait.

Under stocked store!
When I shop at Ross I usually shop Hunt Club in Apopka. It is never stocked. One time I went three days in a row and there was nothing new out.

Racist manager who doesn't care who he hires!
I am working at a Ross store and one of the managers has been proven so many times that he does not care who he hires. He has hired so many people who barely speak English. He knows Spanish but that doesn't mean the customers or the other employees know how to speak it! It really frustrates me along with a lot of the co-workers, but they are too afraid to do anything since they're concerned about keeping their jobs.

The store is very disorganized and one time I had to stay till 11:40pm to clean up the mess. Some of the co-workers do NOT help and just mess around, talk on their cellphones, or laze around and it's very frustrating having to work with these people. I greet every customer with a "hello" and a smile, but many of the co-workers do not even care and are just expecting their next paycheck. Yes, we are working there to make money but they do not realize what they are doing is actually affecting the customers. I have encountered many rude customers but I still kept on a smile and did what I could to make them feel better.

One of the Managers, who I will name Z, does not care AT ALL! He has asked me repeatedly to come in on days that I need off in order to study, however instead of understanding that I'm a full-time student he goes on an angry rant at me... Also, I will be reporting to HR that he has made a racist comment towards me. This past Tuesday I was working and was getting off at noon, but Z showed up and asked if I could stay a few hours longer. I responded that I needed to complete an assignment that is due in a few days, and he replied with, "Well, you're Asian... you're smart and could easily do your assignment in under an hour. So, can you stay?" I had to keep my cool and not cause a scene but i was greatly offended by what he said.

I know that the store is very, very disorganized, most of the staff are very rude towards customers...

I just really wish customers wouldn't take apart the merchandise, but the only reason they do that is to make sure the items are still in there. Also, I really wish parents keep an eye on their children... tearing apart toys, boys throwing footballs at each other and hitting another customer in the head, children getting lost, etc... it's just...Ross is not a daycare.

And I really want the managers to hire people who are friendly, outgoing and just bring brightness into the store.

I'll keep smiling but I don't know how long it will last...

How to get heard at Ross
The first thing is to calm down. The more you rant, the less inclined the employee will be to help you. The more you rant, the more they want to just shut you up and get you to move on.

Ask for the district manager. There are other managers in the store, but they're mostly troubleshooters. If he/she is not there, write them a note stating your concern BRIEFLY and asking them to call you by a certain time. Tell the DM specifically what action you want taken: "I want a full refund," or "I want you to speak with the associate about the proper way to handle this situation, and I want you to let me know when you've talked to him/her."

I like Ross, but they under staff purposely, in order to save money on payroll. So we are in a constant state of rushing and don't have enough time to keep the store tidy or clean. I have been admonished for trying to clean the (nasty) keyboard on my register. I was told, "We don't have enough time to clean." I want thing to change, too, so get your voice heard at Ross corporate!

Unreasonable people always has the first LOUD word
I took my 4-yr old daughter to do some shopping at Ross (333 Ward Ave., Honolulu, HI 96814) on 10/21/06. She found a Winnie the Pooh chair/table set to be very cute. The set is approximately 3 x 3, and weights 25 pounds. Anyway, it is both bulky and heavy esp. when you have to take care of a little kid, and I am barely make 5 ft. After I struggled to slide the set on the shopping cart bottom, and went to the cashier; The cashier (associate #432577) stated that she could not scan the set because the way the set was in the cart. I asked if she could help to move it up to inside the cart so that I could pushed it to the parking lot, where my car was.

She said:" you can do it. Just bring it up!"

I said:" I can't do it, can you help?" Note: I am a person who doesn't ask for help al least I really need it. I happen to have weak wrist that I should not carry heavy items.

Unwillingly and with a long face, she finally move her body and came around to my cart, and dump the set flat on top of the cart.

I said" " I needed it inside the cart safely so that I can take it to the parking lot."

She ignored me.

I managed to move it inside the cart. Pls note that by putting the set flat on top of the cart, the set could fall down and hit anybody who might walk by. Do not forget that the top of the cart goes downward. I asked her if she could put the set inside the cart. Then she turned out to be very upset and angry.

"You can't take the cart to the parking lot! She raised her voice:" I can't scan the box now"

Well, I didn't know that. I moved the box and dumped it on the counter and returned the shopping cart to where it belonged.

When I was signing the sale slip, I dropped my credit card on the counter when she asked to see it.

She was telling me that I was throwing things around, and called Chris, manager on duty for attention. She told Chris that I was throwing things around.

I was totally caught off guarded for her to say that. I guess the unreasonable people always has the first LOUD word.

"I did not!" I replied.

"yes, you did. We have a video camera." She answered confidently.

I told the manager what happened but he didn't say a word.

I dragged the set to my car and came back to say to the manager:" I haven't started complaining about yet, but she had to complain about me first. This is another thing I am not happy about."

"I know." Chris said.

How to fix the problem? Fire her, and a $50 gift cert.
