For the past 11 years my wife has used C-PAP REMSTAR medical equipment for her sleep apnea condition. According to Medicare guidelines two (2) #TCF-145 CPAP microfilters per month are to be issued to the user by the provider. During the past two weeks we were informed by Major Medical, a subsidiary of ROTECH, that it received instructions from ROTECH to issue one (1) #TCF-145 CPAP microfilter to the user every three (3) months. The microfilter traps dust before it enters the machine.
We think that this is an arbitrary decision by ROTECH without having previously consulted with the Durable Medical Equipment MEDICARE Administrative staff. I already called Medicare at their 1-800-633-4227 regarding their guidelines for the use of C-PAP REMSTAR units.
Thank you for your courtesy in passing judgement on our complaint.
Sincerely, Jim and Ethel Cunningham
