Faude!!!

I am still waiting for this to be taking care of. Tried callling to speak to a manager but no one has called back..

Vacation Scam
If you wish to ban together to get media attention to this issue, email me. Only in numbers will we have any hope to bring this company to its knees. Cable news have already run a story and I believe they would be extremely interested in doing a follow up. Also, for a $5 yearly charge you can post a complaint on TheSqueakyWheel.com and each time your complaint is viewed, RH receives an email. They can be bombarded with emails, my complaint has been viewed over 4, 000 times! Come on people, lets get together and stop waiting for someone else to do something...EMAIL ME and lets do something! Shelly M

Scam
We made the purchase of a vacation club membership with Royal Holiday on May 31, 2010 while on vacation in Cancun. We had agreed with the sales director, Ernesto Barberi to exchange 1 of our paid in full timeshare properties in addition to a cash deposit for a paid in full membership package. Later that evening while reading through the membership packet, we realized numerous discrepancies and outright lies between what was presented and what was contained within the language of the packet. We therefore decided that night to exercise our legal right to cancel the membership and receive a full refund. We exercised that right the very next day, June 1, 2010 and met with Mr. Barberi, who claimed that he was unable to process the cancellation at the sales office and gave us instructions of what he needed to do to obtain cancellation and refund authorization. Needles to say, Mr. Barberi has failed to respond to any phone calls, emails or letter since that date.

We have sent registered letters to all adresses in the contract, email notifications, faxes and phone calls on a daily basis and all within the legal time frame allowed, all without results. All our attempts to obtain a cancellation and refund within the allowed 5 business days been roadblocked by the company. Each and every person we contact via email or phone claims that they are either unaware of the process to provide a cancellation/refund or they are not authorized to do so. Also, they are unwilling to provide a name or contact number of any person who knows how to process a cancellation / refund or is authorized to do so.. Ironically, although not authorized to process a cancellation, each representative is authorized to offer upgrades and downgrades galore.

After conducting an internet search, I was amazed to find literally hundreds, if not thousands, of complaints of fraud on behalf of the Royal Holiday representatives. I also found an extremely shocking number of cases of victims attempting to cancel within the legal timeframe as is their right by Article 56 of the Federal Consumer Protection Act all to no avail as the company refuses to abide by the law.

TIMESAHRE
We bought this timeshare in Dominican Republic, Punta Cana on 02/11/2006 at the Ocean Blue Resort and Casino. They took us to the resort that was just inaugurated; the resort was so beautiful and brand new that we did not think twice about buying the timeshare. We paid a down payment of $6, 075.00 in dollars. We left very excited and returned to the United States. When it was time for us to make a reservation at the resort, Ocean Blue Royal Holidays told us that they no longer had a contract with Ocean Blue resort. We were very disappointed and we asked to cancel the contract. They told us that if I paid the remaining balance they will cancel it. I called Mr. Bruno Errigo at the Dominican Republic Office and I explained to him our decision to cancel and also I told him that it was not right what they did to us. He said that if we paid $2, 475.00 dollars he will cancel the contract. Therefore we agreed with him and paid the money. He sent the new agreement on 6/16/2006 and in 7/11/2006 we paid off the contract. Since then, we have received this collection notice from your company. I called Royal Holiday and they told me that the contract was canceled but THEY CAN NO GIVE US THE LETTER OF CANCELLATION. The contract was terminated . Attached is the contract that was made in Dominican Republic. After giving the contract to our lawyer he explained to us, that we should not have paid Mr. Bruno Errigo because that contract was not valid after Royal Holiday did not give us what was promised on the day we signed the contract. Please advice what we should do about this matter. As a note, our contract was not based on U.S. Law but rather Dominican Republic Law as that were the terms under which it originated.

Nightmares for life!
H E L P S O S !

We feel we have been the victim of a fraud, we have contacted everyone at this company ask for our money back.

No one has been able to help us, it seems they forget everything, we got the names of the sales people and with all the guys we spoke, each item we've discussed.

My husband and I purchased a timeshare with Royal Holiday on 2/28/07. We were pressured into buying and realized after we left what a terrible decision we had made. I searched through all of the paperwork given to us looking for any type of info on a cancellation period with no luck but we kept trying to cancel!

We are so very angry, feel like we have been knowingly deceived.
We did not pay the down payment in full and all paperwork says that the down payment was received...
Is this contract legit if the down payment was not complete??????????

Can We get a refund? We want to make them pay for what they've done to us!!!

We are rying to compile all the information and expose them to all the medias!

Timeshare Scam
I am frustrated to no end with Royal Holiday. I am writing this complaint in the hopes that everyone will wise up to this fraudulent company and avoid making the worst purchase of their life.

I purchased a vacation plan with Royal holiday in 2006 based on the FALSE promises by the salesman of complete travel flexibility and locking in the cost of my vacations. During the sales presentation, I was promised that the 30, 000 points I purchased would be plenty for 2 weeks of holidays per year to anywhere in the world. When I read the catalog later that same night (after signing), I realized that most of the destinations cost well over 20, 000 points per week and with many restrictions. The two week vacation promised would be virtually impossible!!!

The day after I purchased I called to cancel and was told by their staff that there were absolutely no refunds. I now know that it is the law in Mexico to have 5 days to rescind your contract, but unfortunately at the time I was unaware and of course they didn't tell me. Consequently, I tried to make the best of it and use the timeshare, but then I started having the following problems:

1) I was told that there would be amazing flexibility when booking vacations. When I tried to book a trip in 2006, I was not able to book for the two times that I had wanted, even though I called well in advance. Instead, I was forced to book for my last choice of time, and I could only travel from Sunday to Sunday. I do not consider this tremendous flexibility!

2) I booked a trip for August 2006 to the Bahamas. When booking this trip, I was advised about a 'resort fee' of $475.19 for my guest and me for one week. When I asked about the nature of this fee, I was told that my vacation points only apply to the room, and that I would have to pay this extra fee for the week. This was another example of something that was not explained to me or included in my contract upon purchasing the plan. All of a sudden, the vacation plan is getting increasingly expensive.

3) I experienced a third example of misrepresentation for my trip in February 2007. I was booking a trip to Cancun, and was advised of an all-inclusive fee of $672 for me and my guest for the week. Again this was another fee that was never explained to me or included in my contract. With the cost of the flight and the all-inclusive trip, I could easily book a package online for cheaper. Why did I get charged $20, 000 to pay even more to take holidays???

4) In 2009, I found it almost impossible to book vacation time anywhere outside of Mexico and the Caribbean. The plan is not flexible as I was promised it would be.

5) I signed a contract with an annual fee of $570. They promised me that a timeshare would "lock in the cost of my vacation". Now I am being told that the annual fees have increased to $725! How high will they get in the future? When I inquired about the increase, I was told the fee increase was in the Operating Rules. I never received the operating rules, nor did I have any fee increases explained to me.

In short, the lack of availability or resorts, the misrepresentation of value to the points, the increase in hidden fees, and the poor standard of the rooms are the reasons why I am demanding that they cancel my contract. This vacation plan was completely misrepresented to me in the sales presentation and I will no longer tolerate spending money for something that was not what I agreed to upon purchasing my plan with Royal Holiday.

I have been contacting their staff since November, and just keep getting passed from person to person with no real response. I feel like a broken record having to repeat my story. I finally felt like I was getting somewhere with Mario Sanabria as he made an initial (low) offer, but when I rejected it, they put me back to the commentsquality email address with no name. They are too ashamed of their product to provide me with their name!

I've read so many bad reviews of this company, and watched all the videos online now. I think all of us that have been scammed by this fraudulent organization need to get together to demand our money back and put this company out of business. Spread the word...DO NOT BUY ROYAL HOLIDAY UNLESS YOU HAVE MONEY TO BURN!
