I called Royal Refinishing on august 2. I scheduled to have my kitchen sink and upstairs bathtub refinished on august 6. A man named Carlos Dominques showed up and started the work. After about an hour he informed me that the job was more than he bargained for and wanted an extra $ 200 because of the problems he was having preparing the two items. I really had no choice at the time because he said he would just leave if I didn't pay the extra money. I paid in full at the completion and he left. He insisted that I make it out to "cash" and I got a call from my bank asking if I had indeed written it. I said I had but wasn't satisfied with the job and would they be so kind as to not cash the check. I got a call about 2 minutes later from Carlos threatening me with everything from "I'm going to ruin your credit" to "I'm going to call you every day until I pay him. I explained that the extra $200 he charged me was underhanded and I was not going to be run over by him. I explained that I would pay the original price that was quoted even though he did leave quite a mess. He continued to scream at me and I hung up on him. I called the police and made a report when the police arrived. I was told to report anymore calls from this company. How can people like this operate in our city? I am calling the State Attorney Generals office to file a complaint on monday. I want people to know just what kind of people this company is. Apparently this is called "Bait and Switch". They give one price to get the job and demand more once they are in your house. Beware!
