Corrupt Business Practices
If you ever are interested in an employment opportunity, that is through RPC Company (Resource Personnel Consultants) temp agency RUN THE OTHER WAY. I took a job through this agency in April of 2008. I worked in that assignment for a little over a year until May 209. When the assignment ended I got in touch with my contact person there Chrissy Andrew, and let her know that the assignment had ended and that I was available for more work. At that point I asked if I needed to do anything to apply for unemployment benefits, and she told me no, just make sure that I file with RPC and not he client company since I was actually working with them, at no time did she say to come in and sign a log or anything. I waited the required amount of days to get my benefits started with the state of Texas since I was not contacted with further employment. After about a month I get a packet from the workforce commission saying that an appeal had been filed by the employer saying that I voluntarily left the job on the grounds that I did not come in and sign an availability log that is stipulated in the policies and procedures. Well they do not give you a copy of the policies and procedure because "it is against company policy" for that information to leave the premisis, though I as an employee am supposed to abide by it. During the unemployment hearing Scott Sayers their representative could not himself explain why I could not have gotten a copy of the policies and procedures for my own records. Long story short the state sided with the employer and I filed an appeal of my own of which I am still awaiting decision. If you want to go to work everyday and make money for a lousy temp agency with no benefits, just so you can get screwed when they drop the ball, this is the place to be.
