Got locked out of my house and was trying to figure out who to call. They are the #1 paid search result returned on Bing and Google when you search for "Seattle Locksmith". So I called them. They said the locksmith would arrive in 10-20 minutes. He arrived about 45 minutes later. He drove up in an old unmarked car. Tried to pick the lock and after 10 min said it wasnt possible. He drilled the door and replaced the lock. Charged us about $100 extra to rekey the lock even though the web site says rekeying should be free. Total came out to $400. He said his credit card machine was broken and asked for cash. I asked for a business card and documentation after realizing the invoice he gave me did not have his name - he refused saying it was on the web site. After he left I realized that this was a scam and that he was most likely an unlicensed locksmith. Doing more internet reserach confirmed this. I called the Run Local locksmith on his cell phone and asked for his full name and locksmith license number - but he refused to tell me. I tried calling the Run Local phone number to get info and kept getting the run-around.

I ended up calling a reputable locksmith company that is actually local and is BBB accredited to come over and rekey all my locks as I do not trust the Run Local "locksmith".

Please ignore any positive comments about Run Local that show up in response to this complaint because they are from spam accounts (all the complaints about Run Local have these spam positive comments).

I was quoted $15 for the technician to arrive. He then informed me the charge was $125. Fine since he did get the keys out of the trunk for my daughter, so I thought. He was drunk and instructed my son in law how to open/pop the trunk. When contacting the call center in reference I am still getting the run around to place a complaint mainly about the drunk technician. And I want a refund for the full amount minus the $15 service charge. The reps are Rude and only one person can help me but he refuses to return my call. If I don't receive assistance with in 2 days I will be contacting the media. AND NO I AM NOT A COMPETITOR JUST A VERY DISSATISFIED CUSTOMER THAT WAS SCREWED!!!

Essentially these shade-sters post mobile ads falsely claiming 15-min, $15 auto lockout service, taking advantage of people in a desperate situation.
As far as I can gather they are really just nationwide dispatchers. They'll forward your request within 15 min and for $15. But the speed and cost of the service is dictated by local locksmiths getting your request.
Yesterday I was locked out from my car and called your service for assistance, after clicking a Google Adsense ad stating you had 15 min, $15 lockout service.
The operator took my information and indicated someone would be out in 15-20 minutes. She also said I could pay with cash, debit, or any credit card but AmEx.
About 15 minutes later a locksmith called asking about my location. He said he's be there in 20-25 min, but turned up an hour later in a unmarked car.
He indicated that based on the "time of day" and type of car I could pay $140 cash or $160 via credit card. When I pointed out that the web site said $15 service, he replied that the $15 was only for the service call.
Also, when listing payment options, the operator never indicated that various payment options might results in a higher charge.
I paid the guy his $160 because I'd already flushed an hour of my day waiting on this "guaranteed" 15 minute service, but I'd like to prevent others from being similarly mislead and I dunno maybe even get then to clean up their business practices.
