In August 2008 my mother in law and husband and brother in law decided to get a truck and trailer and put our guys to work for them selves so we went to Ryder to rent truck to try it out we spoke with the rental manager mike here at our local Ryder in phoenix we told him that we wanted to rent a truck and trailer and run under there authority to pick up loads and transport them to there delivery location he said that that would not be a problem but that depending on our credit we may have to put a $25000.00 deposit this not being a problem had him run our credit he returned to us and informed us that even with that kind of a deposit we couldn't rent a truck directly with them he referred us to a 3rd party who could rent the equipment for us and then rent it to us so we did so but then we find out that we cant us there insurance because they had no way of doing the insurance thou a 3rd party so we would have to go get our own insurance so we do that and while the insurance agent is trying to write our police discovers that we wouldn't even have authority to run under so we go back to Ryder and argued the issue but felt that the explanation was a valid one so we go set up are authority we have to rent the truck 2 weeks before we can even run because the fmcsa needs the Vin numbers from the equipment so were here paying $3000.00 for 2 weeks and we cant even run so finally we get up and running and the trucks air conditioning dies on us so we have 2 guys in a truck in the south east in September and no air conditioning we call Ryder's 1-800 number and are informed that the issue doesn't warrant a repair away from are home terminal so we bring them home to get it fixed and they fix it so we send them back out and not even 2 days later the air conditioner dies again we decide that we cant even do it with having to pay nearly 4000.00 every 2 weeks with renting the truck but we were not ready to give up yet so we look at leasing our equipment and so here we go we have to deal with this leasing agent of Ryder's by the name of roger he tells us that the rental agent was wrong and that if we did in fact have $25000.00 for a deposit that he could of gotten us under a rental directly from Ryder but that if it makes us feel any better that mike was no longer working for Ryder and that he was fired. we decided to do the lease with Ryder we put 15000.00 dollar deposit and he started looking for a truck and trailer for us so we keep running in this 3rd party rental. roger finally calls and says he found a really good sound truck for us and that it was a perfect truck no mechanical issues just cosmetics so no prob hes suppose to have the truck brought in so we bring our guys home so we can switch out our truck cause he swearers it would be ready to go by the time they got home ruffly 2 weeks later they get home the truck isn't even here so we decide not to take the rental out and just wait for our truck a month went by and the truck finally gets here and its got a out of service sticker on the window we aged that with roger but he assured us that it was not a problem and that the truck would get a throw inspection and even if it looked questionable it would be fixed because the bill for fixing it would go to the Ryder location it came from so the mechanics would not worry about it coming out of there fiscal budget and make there numbers look bad so they do every thing but because we had been down a month now we wonted to get going so we had them hold off on painting the truck and got going we were told that if there were any problems no matter how little to note it and it would be fixed so we got out and was running and doing good but then there was a problem we didn't get are ifta stickers and the ones on the truck were about to exspire i call roger no answer i call again again no answer so i call and i talk to patty in the permits department she informs us that are truck isn't registered to even be out of the state of Arizona so here we are in fort smith Arkansas picking up a load i talk to rogers supp and he gets us a regular account manager and he cant find out why are truck hadn't been assigned to won already cause from the time we took custody of our truck are account should of been signed over to be assigned to account manager roger doesn't return my calls at all so we aren't even suppose to be out of the state so we get the problem fixed temporally we deliver the load and i get them another load passing throw Arizona so that we can meet them in flagstaff with the correct plates so when we were able to get the guys home a few weeks latter we turned the truck in with a nice long list of problems when we send them out when the truck is ready the repairers weren't done right we argued this and everything Else we had problems with we told them that we wonted out that we were mislead into the contract with Ryder that roger misrepresented the terms and that they were in breach of the contract and that we wonted to be absorbed of all responsibility and are 15000.00 back but they promised us that all problems would be resolved and that from here out are experience would be a positive one and that we wouldn't regret it but every time are truck went in for repairs they weren't done repeatedly and each time we would ague it and promised that the truck would get repaired properly so here we are year later are in July we again for the umpteenth million time asked for repairers to be done that we requested several times before to be done we get are truck back and guess what there not so we take the truck back we suppose to pick a load up in a few short hours and no truck and no loner available so we have to cancel our load and because we cant get another load in time to pick up another load that we had booked we are now out 5700.00 when we finally get a loner and go out he pikes up the load delivers it the next day and pikes up another and is passing throw on I-10 and the loner brakes down so they get us anther loner and he gets in to new Mexico and it breaks down we deliver are load 3 days late because of it i send them a bill and they responded with they are only responsible for getting us a new loner and that they are not responsible for money lost do to faulty equipment that trucks break down they cant control that but that's why the furnish you with a loner we get are truck back and again there problems haven't been resolved so we have a meeting and the wont to keep are truck to be able to go threw it and fix it all up they put us in a loner we get loaded Theres a problem with this loner as well they switch it out with yet another loner my husband is driving down I-40 getting ready to cross the state line into Arkansas hes driving at 65 miles an hour when the truck just shuts off all power he manages to get it to the side of the road and goes to get the triangles out to put out on the road to worn other motorist that there is a problem and to be careful and there are none to be found we are sitting 100miles from the first of 3 drops all 3 drops are churches for a church fund raising bazaar the mechanic tells my husband that hes lucky the truck didn't cause a major accident cause the turbo shattered and the pieces became bullets causing allot of damage to the truck so they bring another longer and while the tow truck is hooking up the truck the Ryder tec noticed that there are also some mager problems with the brake system. i go to the Ryder here and there response it as long as we get you another loner we have done all we are responsible to do and that if we wont out of are lease we better get a attorney but that there contracts are iron plad so have a great day.
