Rude/Unprofessinal/Ripoffs
I rented a truck to move a dryer in Phoenix. I called and was told I could rent a used truck for $29.95. I thought this was a deal. Since I was driving my car, I took a friend with me to be an additional driver on the vehicle who's insurance covered him on a rental car just like mine did. When we arrived, the first guy didn't speak very much, except to ask us if we wanted the "green one" or the "white one". He told us it would be the agreed upon price and wrote that on the paper along with $10.95, which I assumed was for taxes. He never once verbally ask me if I was declining their insurance coverage in favor of our own.. There was also a $11.99 cleaning fee, $3.00 PKG fee (whatever that is) and a $2.50 s/c fee. Nothing else is written on my pink copy. When I return the truck the next day, all sorts of fees started appearing on the vehicle, such as a $3.00 additional driver fee, and $11.95 taxes. SO what I assumed would be a total of $40 out of my pocket came out to almost $75. They should also give you the opportunity to decline the cleaning fee if you can run it through the car wash yourself. They are only $3.00 in Phoenix. The vehicle also had barely an 1/8th of a tank of gas when we picked it up. And the guy behind the counter told me to get off the property and called me an A**hole when I questioned the bill and asked why all this wasn't explained to me when I rented the vehicle. He rudely asked you signed it, can't you read. And I asked him if he could read something on the form and he said "IFNOT", and I said if not what? It doesn't say, so that's why it needs to be verbally explained. I'll be contacting the State's Attorney General's Office. These tactics are ridiculous.
