Dear Sirs: We watched the Safe Auto Insurance commercial shown during the Super Bowl and again tonight, Thursday, Feb. 10. The commercial shows a man being kicked in the groin several times, presumably to show how unexpected problems require insurance.

That ad is disgusting, inappropriate and in extremely poor taste! It certainly does not inspire confidence in your product, nor does it encourage my husband or myself to investigate Safe Auto Insurance for our own insurance needs. I'm sure your advertising staff could come up with something that is in much more informative regarding the importance of owning insurance and the positive aspects (if there are any) of Safe Auto Insurance, in particular.

Please rethink the current commercial. As it now is, it is a waste of our time to watch it, and it is a waste of your company's money to pay for it.

did not pay in timely manner and is delaying payment from gap insurance by not sending required forms
My husband hit a deer and filed a claim with Safe Auto on 11/05/08. The car was deemed a total loss. Each time the agent handling the claim would ask for certain forms or other information we would immediately send it out. When we would make contact with him again because we had not heard from him, he would come up with some other information than he needed and did not have. This happened over and over. They came and got the car long before they ever paid on it. Payment was finally made in May 2009. However, they are being very slow in sending the needed information to our Gap Insurance. Without this info the Gap Insurance cannot pay. The car company is hounding us and threatening to write it off as a bad debt. We filed a complaint with the Insurance Board and the agent gave them false information.

credit on totalled vehicle
I totalled a vehicle on 03/06/09, and asked for my totalled vehicle to be removed from policy. I paid for two months of that car (after it was totalled) and am owed 300 plus dollars of reimbursement or credit to my account. Safe Auto, after at least twenty calls, seventeen different customer service individuals and claims individuals, still has not refunded my overpayment as a credit to my account! I have spent hours on the phone explaining this, several individuals "understand' but "cant do anything, because it's not their department' then the other department who is responsible NEVER calls me back or is available or can't make decisions on it... I am getting the run around, I want my credit! they took money and have had it and I can't seem to get a credit! help!

New customer rip off!
On 5/8/08 at 6:56pm I called Safe Auto at 1-800-723-3288 about an insurance quote. I worked with Beverly Rainey a Sales Rep. She quoted policy number MO00007230A-00 for a 6 month term of $371.00. I had paid with a check over the phone. I called my current insurance company Allstate and they refused to give me a refund for the reminder of the policy that expired on 5/24. So I was not going to have two insurance companies, so I had to move the start date with Safe Auto. I called Safe Auto again on 5/8/08 7:31pm. The only way for me to move my policy to the start date of the 24th was to cancel and then call in again within 7 days before the 5/24/08. So they had to cancel the policy and I said I would call back in again to set up insurance again. No mention of cancelation charges of $25 and $60 were mentioned by the three employees I spoke to. They even had to cancel at the underwriters because they could not undue what they did in 20 minutes. Following that they with draw money out of my account for $371.00 and removed the $25 and $60 from that check by phone and sent me a check for the remainder. I have yet to see the check. On May 20th 2008. I called in to Safe Auto tonight on the 5/20/08 at 7:26pm, I spoke to a customer service rep and she said there was nothing that she could do. That the charges were non refundable, How could they be non-refundable I didn't know about the charges and they didn't provide any service to me, for a policy that was set to start the next day. So at 5/20/08 I called again at 7:35, spoke to a customer service rep that said she was going to send me to a manger in Missouri. She sent me to another customer service rep in Missouri whom I yelled at and she said that she was not a manger but in sales. She sent was able to get a manger to whom I spoke with and she was also unable to do anything to resolve the issue. I had explained that if she was not able to refund the charges for no service provided that they had lost my business. She was unable to work with me at all and all she could do was to offer an apology. Safe Auto has lost my Business, because of poor sales and customer service.
