Safeway fish has worms
If is was not enough that all the fish at safeway look rotten even though they are not past their expiration date, I spotted one disgusting package of red snapper and it had a WORM! The worm was squirming and was very much alive. I don't know what kind of worm it was, but it had the same color as the fish meat. I could spot it's reproductive segment though. Unfortunately I did not have a camera. When asked if I needed help I asked them on it, they responded "we don't package these", as if I had asked.
In retrospect, I should have asked someone for a camera, because they to it to the back and started discussing about it. This is too much.

Terrible experience!
Safeway's in calgary. Why do they bother to hold these contests. The store cashiers never hand you a ticket. Even though they are siting in plain site. And if you ask for one they get bitchy as if they were giving away there own money. One cashier even told me she does not have time to give them out. The tickets are right at the cash register. And this happens every contest. So why bother...

Online delivery service!
I just recently finally gave up on using Safeway's online delivery service. After appx. 6 uses, I haven't had a single one arrive with more than 80% of what I had ordered. Produce is uniformly of poor quality (although the meat is average). Delivery delays, overcharging, and unauthorized substitutions are all addition problems that I've had to deal with every time. The service would be a good one if they could actually fill their orders, but it seems that Safeway is incapable of that for now.

VERY RUDE EMPLOYEES!
I AM A SINGLE MOTHER ON A FIXED INCOME AND PATRONIZE THIS PARTICULAR SAFEWAY STORE BECAUSE I DO NOT HAVE A CAR AND IT IS CLOSE TO WHERE WE LIVE. ON 1/9/08 WE SHOPPED AT THIS SAFEWAY AND MY 9 YEAR OLD HAD A DOLLAR IN QUATERS THAT HE WANTED TO SPEND, HE PUT ALL FOUR QUARTERS IN THE VENDING MACHINES AND THEY ATE ALL FOUR! THE EVENING BEFORE THE MACHINE ATE TWO QUARTERS. THE WOMAN THAT WAS RINGING ME UP HAD HELPED ME THE PREVIOUS NIGHT( SHE WAS NOT TOO NICE THEN EITHER) . WHEN I TOLD HER WHAT HAD HAPPENED SHE TREATED ME LIKE I WAS A CRIMINAL AND TRYING TO SWINDLE HER OUT OF MONEY! SHE EXPLAINED THAT THOSE MACHINES ARE OWNED BY A DIFFERENT COMPANY AND I CAN UNDERSTAND THAT, WHAT I DO NOT APPRECIATE IS THE FACT THAT SHE WAS VERY RUDE AND CONDECENDING. WHILE I WAS TRYING TO EXPLAIN TO THE CLERK THE WOMAN THAT WAS BAGGING MY GROCERIES KEPT REPEATEDLY ASKING "WHAT MACHINE?" "WHAT MACHINE". WHEN I TOLD HER , SHE REPLIED WITH A VERY RUDE " WELL I WAS JUST WONDERING"! WHAT BUISENESS WAS IT OF HER. I WILL NOT BE SHOPPING THERE AGAIN THEY ARE NOT WORTHY OF MY MONEY!

Poor service!
This is America, isn't it? Why should I have to go into a Safeway store and not be greeted by someone who knows how to speak english. I went into a Safeway Store and tried to get fresh hot French bread. To no avail, I had to try to speak tp 2 people who could not get a normal sentence out. I don't care what the ethnic background is, but if you want the american dream, then become an American. Until we as a people decide to something about this it will continue. Mcdonalds is not better and absolutely worse. We need to stop changing who and what our forefathers believed in and where. We need to act as one and not as African American, Asian American, Native American or Even Norweigian American. The great people who created this country believed that the mixture of culture is what made this country what it is. The idea was to become one not what the few are. To learn the laws and abide by those laws. To assimilate and yet be different at the same time. Please help all of us in this troubling and ongoing problem. Stand up for what your ancestors believed and lived for. Please don't shop at places where they allow this to happen and definitely not Safeway!

CRV charge for MEAT!
Do you ever look at you receipt from the grocery store? i usually don't. I will look at the prices of the items i purchased on the register, in case i was charged wrong. Sometimes stores will give you the item free if the register charges you the incorrect price. Then i will look at the bottom line of the receipt for the total sale. Yesterday, i just happen to scan the whole receipt. I was charged .08 for crv charge for MEAT. crv is California redemption value for purchases of soda or drinks in plastic or alum containers. if you recycle the items at a station, you will get your $$ back. But i was charged crv for MEAT. I'm thinking, what do they charge for stay form now? I called the store and they are at a loss. They have no idea why i was charged for it on a meat purchase. Maybe the clerk punched it in wrong? but the thing is the crv was added from their computer program. My beef is not the .08 but that i am sure i was not the first person to have this added to their grocery bill. Safeway gets hundreds for sales everyday. how many unsuspecting consumers were also charged??? i want to call some state agency that regulates overcharges/incorrect charges but i don't know who. any help would be appreciated, cuz it's not right... i intend to call safeways corp office. it's the principle not the amt..
