GOT FIRED FOR NOT HITTING GOAL
I WAS JUST FIRED FROM SALLIE MAE FOR NOT HITTING MY GOAL FOR 4 MONTHS. SALLIEMAE WAS A GREAT JOB FOR THE FIRST FEW YEARS...THEN SCOTT DEWITT TOOK OVER THE COMPANY AND IT HAS BEEN GOING DO THE TOILET EVER SINCE. THIS MAN IS A RELATIVE OF THE DEVIL. HE'S NEVER NICE TO THE EMPLOYEES...HE YELLED, LOOKED CRAZY, AND SAID VERY RUDE THINGS TO THE STAFF ALL DAY. THEN ON TOP OF THAT, SCOTT WOULD LOOK AT ALL THE WOMENS ASSES ALL DAY, AND IF HE THOUGHT YOU WERE CUTE HE WASN'T MEAN TO THEM...OH YEAH, AND IF YOU WERE IN THE MILITARY HE WAS COOL WITH YOU. HE MADE LIVES FOR THE EMPLOYEES AT SALLIEMAE VERY BAD. I GOT FIRED BECAUSE THERE IS A RECESSION, AND PEOPLE ARE UNEMPLOYED AND THEY CAN'T PAY...SO, I'M BEING HELD RESPONSIBLE AS WELL AS OTHERS BECAUSE THE ECONOMY IS BAD AND PEOPLE CAN'T PAY THERE (OVER PRICED) STUDENT LOANS. MANAGEMENT OTHER THEN SCOTT WERE EITHER LAZY OR THEY WERE SMART ASSES TO THE BORROWERS. I'M NOT SAD THAT I NO LONGER WORKING FOR SALLIE MAE, BECAUSE THESE PEOPLE A CRAZY, PLUS I WASN'T THE ONLY PERSON WHO GOT FIRED AND I WONT BE THE LAST. BUT, WHY KEEP HIRING PEOPLE THAT CAN'T HIT THEIR GOAL OF 1.3 MILLION DOLLARS...MEANING I HAD TO COLLECT 1.3 MILLION DOLLARS IN ACCOUNTS. SALLIE MAE IS STUPID AND I DO FEEL SORRY FOR THE PEOPLE WHO HAVE NO JOB TO PAY THEIR LOANS BACK AND HAVE TO LISTEN TO ALL THE MESSEGES I HAD TO LEAVE. THAT PLACE ISN'T GOOD FOR BUSINESS. THE ONLY PEOPLE AT SALLIEMAE THAT DO HIT GOAL...(THEY ALL CHEAT). THEY LEAVE MESSEGES WITH THIRD PARTY INFO ON THEM. LIKE "THIS MESSEGE IS FOR JOHN'S MOM, KATHY I'M CALLING TO LET YOU KNOW THAT YOUR SON'S STUDENT LOAN WITH SALLIE MAE IS ABOUT TO DEFAULT, PLEASE LET JOHN KNOW THAT WE HAVE OPTIONS TO HELP HIM WITH HIS LOANS". THIS MESSEGE IS AGAINST THE LAW!!! BUT SALLIEMAE DOESN'T WORRY ABOUT CATCHING THE CHEATERS BECAUSE THEY COLLECT LOTS OF MONEY EVERY MONTH. WHICH MAKES THEM HAVE AN EXCELLENT BONUS WHICH GIVES THE SUPERVISORS AND SCOTT DEWITT A FAT BONUS...JUST THOUGHT I'D CLEAR THE AIR AND GET SALLIEMAE FROM MY THOUGHTS. I'M SO TIRED OF SALLIEMAE TELLING COLLEGES KIDS TO SIGN UP FOR A $50, 000 LOAN, THEN THEY TELL THEM THEIR PAYMENTS WILL ONLY BE $50 PER MONTH AND I KNOW THIS IS TRUE BECAUSE I'VE ALWAYS HAD ATLEAST 1 SALLIEMAE BORROWER CALL AND COMPLAIN ABOUT IT!

Student loans
I have to say I am right there with all of you guys as well as far as sallie mae (the wicked) goes. I have been dealing with them 6 months after I graduated in 2004 it is now 2009 and I still have not come to any kind of agreement with them. I have used up all of my forbearance (which cost me $150, every 6 months, that does not go toward my loans or interest ) which kills me!! Therefore, I have given up and said to hell with SM and my credit there is nothing else I can do since they are not willing to work with people.
They will not consolidate my private loans to lower the interest since they put a freeze on that, unknown to me, until I called trying to do it. But even before they put a freeze on it they would not consolidate them for many other reasons that of course were bullshit reasons. when in fact they are just doing these things to keep taking on interest. which is so backwards to me because why do you keep screwing someone when you know they can't pay you in the first place?? I hate SM! and if I was a computer hacker I would go in and delete everyone's debt!!! But I am not so what the hell are we all suppose to do about this huge cloud hanging over us???
If there is indeed a lawsuit I am in so please let me know if there is. Oh by the way are there people out there who did not even realize when they were taking out these loans that they were private?? and know about all the issues that come with private loans? my school has a class action lawsuit against it right now for misguiding students about all of this. Schools really need to have a course that every student has to take to learn about student loans before they take any loans out. Because the student loan world has it's own language that we all do not speak so we all end up in this situation. But then again if there was a course the recruiters or so called guidance counselors would not get bonuses for signing students up for loans. It's all a twisted ball of BULLSHIT and we are the ones who get shit on over and over again!!!

Customer Service
I have been receiving harassing phone calls for over 2 years looking for a "Robert Garcia" who is apparently deliquent on a loan. Unfortunatly I share the same first name with him. Most of the time the reps on the phone are very rude and hang up on me when I explain that there is no Robert Garcia at this number.
I have called back multiple times requesting that I be removed from their list and spoken to managers several times. Each time I am promised that I will be removed from the list and then I continue to get calls a day or two later. Recent call I have recieved were on the JAN 6th, 27th, 30th. FEB 2nd, 3rd and 6th and have ask 6 times to remove my #. They are costing a fortune in cell phone minutes. Today I was hung up on twice and they refused to allow me to talk to a supervisor.
The numbers I am getting calls from are 407-319-3014, 773-571-6645. I was also told to call 866-851-9593 to remove my number which I did and was hung up on 2 more times.

Illegal Application Submission
On October 14th, 2008 an application was submitted using my personal information for a Sallie Mae Signature Loan.
I was notified of the pull on my credit on October 18th, via TrueCredit monitoring service.
I immediately placed freezes on my credit files and starting contacting SallieMae.
Sallie Mae has refused to admit any wrongdoing. They state that they spoke with a person in the financial aid office who stated that I was personally in the office on October 14th, but this was not humanly possible. I was a nursing student and was at my clinical site all day which can be verified by seven students and an instructor.
Sallie Mae also claims that they have no copy of the application that was submitted. Yet they had enough information to illegall pull my credit report and process an application that I didn't submit! I even received a letter two weeks later stating that they would approve me with a co-signer- but I had no need for the loan! My financial aid information had been taken care of weeks prior!
On top of that, I know that I do not qualify for Sallie Mae's underwriting guidelines for a private loan. Knowing that, why would I ever submit a loan application for something that I knew I would not qualify for?
I believe that someone from the school submitted a fraudulent loan application in my name and that Sallie Mae is doing everything they can to cover their ass, and the school's so they are not held legally responsible.
I have filed a fraud complaint with the US Dept of Education, and will be filing a small claims suit on Monday for an unauthorized inquiry via the Fair Credit and Reporting Act Section 604. I don't know what else to do. I am very frightened that Sallie Mae is so willing to assist others in fraudulently obtaining loans in other people's names though.

Horrible
I was advised to start a class action suit against Sallie Mae. I will need the support of those who wish to take part in this. Sallie Mae has ruined a lot of people's trust and faith in the borrowing process for us and our children to go to college. If you are willing please contact me via email, I will do the rest of the leg work to get this going.
Thank you

Excessive Phone Call
Just in one day and being the last day of X'Mas Holidays I received five calls untill 8:30 P.M. PST from telephone (773) 571-6645 of which calls came from Sallie Mae. They are looking for a female name that everytime I will ask if the person is my daughter - they'll answer "yes". Too bad I do not have a daughter.

Private Loan Forbearance
Last month, I requested a forbearance for my 3 private loans through Sallie Mae, in addition to my Stafford loan forbearance. I was told the $150 ($50 per loan) fee would be bucketed to my account and that my payments would resume in January 2009. It was a 3 month forbearance. The only reason I was requesting this was because my job downsized to part-time, and I am not making enough money to afford my daily medication or gas for my vehicle (i walk to work to save gas). I have been seeking another part-time job, in addition to looking for a full-time job.
Anyways, I was told this would be no problem, that the fee would be bucketed and that my payments would resume in January. Fine. I'll take what I can get. However, today, I received a call stating that I did not make a "good faith" payment, thus my forbearance has been canceled. But they are still going to tack on the $150. The good faith payment was to be equal to my monthly payment, as it was explained today. If I am paying a monthly payment, why would I need the $150 forbearance fee?
In addition, if you are NOT giving me a forbearance, you CANNOT charge me the fee. I argued that point with them, only to be hung up on by the female representative named Mia. I called back, and the male representative I talked to stated that I only owed $50, that only one loan forbearance was removed. How can that be, I asked, but he couldn't answer me. I asked to speak to a supervisor, but was told the problem would be forwarded, but he couldn't tell me when that supervisor would call me back. I told him that wasn't good enough and that I would keep calling until I spoke with a supervisor. After sitting on hold for over 5 minutes, a supervisor answers, and instead of listening to me, he kept interrupting and would even talk over me. I doubt he heard a word I said. I was so frustrated at him for talking over me, then talking down to me about how I am irresponsible in not paying the good faith payment (remember, the one that I just found out about today), that I eventually hung up.
I am wondering if there isn't another (good and honest) company out there that would consolidate my loans for me, just so I could get away from Sallie Mae. I am considering speaking with a lawyer about this because I don't believe they can charge me for a service that they failed to provide. Maybe a class action lawsuit will set them straight.

Violating our rights
I just got off the phone with sallie mae because i wanted to go into forberance. I was layed off a month ago and cannot make the payments. So i thought well i'll go into forbearance for another six months and pay the processing fee, right? WRONGGGGGG! Even though i have another year of forbearance left they wanted me to make the 150 dollar processing fee plus a "good faith payment" of 800 dollars! I told them that this made no sense. If i had 800 dollars i would pay the month not be going into forbearance. They pretty much jerked me around and i told them that nowhere in the fine print does it say anything about any "good faith payment". They pretty much didn't know what to say and said they couldn't help me any further. So i told them they are pretty much violating my rights to forbearance and refuse to help. And they pretty much just gave me the run around again. I really think the the things they r doing are illegal but i just don't know who to go to. there is no protection for borrowers. They pretty much make it seems that there is nothing you can do about it and there is noone else to help you. I think this is not true and they are just trying to intimdate me.We need to join together because i'm sure there are thousands of people out their in similar situations and don't know what to do. They pretty much told me that they don't need to inform me of these things. I'm sorry but if they are making me pay this money i have a right to be informed. I don't know what i'm going to do. I just need someone to help me and i don't know where to go... I know there has to be someone out there that can help.

Worst customer service I have encountered
I have had a student loan with these people for years and every time I call for something, I always get a rep that doesn't speak good english at all. That they have to repeat everything they say because you can't understand them.I have never had so much trouble getting through to someone, let alone someone who actually speaks english to the point that they only have to say the things once.
I think if you are going to have a really productive student loan company, you need to get people in there working that actually knows how to speak a little more than a slurpy amount of english.
I have also called a few months ago to have a coupon book sent to me to make my payments and I have never received one. I had to call several times since then and request the same thing. I don't know why these people can't get their stuff together so that when someone calls with a concern/question, they can talk to an American the speaks English...
